Ships move like they are a fixed part of the weapon instead of weapons moving and tracking as needed and able, depending on ship's size.

I don't agree with that at all

It depends on the sort of weapon mount you have. The cheaper fixed mounts which often have a bigger punch or the gimballed mounts which are the ones I think you mean. They have their quirks though.

Complete reading comprehension fail?

If you've only ever had a fixed pulse laser, well yes - it is fixed in place and you need to maneuvre the entire ship to aim your weapon.

Gimbals work on a gimbal - that gives a limited tracking ability within its axis of travel, you still have to aim the ship at target.

Turrets are self aiming and have a wider degree of motion, but you still have to aim your ship in the general direction you want to fire.

Nothing unusual about any of that.

The ships move as if they are a fixed part of the weapon? Or do you mean the weapons move as if they are a fixed part of the ship, erm, which they are.

Oh look... someone's bought a spoon with them to the party...

As Asp Explorer has said there are gimballed weapons as well and later on guided missiles may be on the cards... It's still only a beta for heaven's sake...

Why not go and take your mischief off to the SC forums... you'll be more likely to get the outraged reaction you're looking for there... ;) :p

But SC has perfectly reasonable weapon systems that can be moved around just like on every vehicle ever in real life.
Moving your entire ship like it's a part of a weapon that needs to be aligned with the target is just silly.

How on earth can it be silly? Have you ever seen a real weapons system? This is a nice example of a gimbaled weapon.

The whole vehicle needs to face it's target. It doesn't have a turret.

Care to enlighten us on what vehicles those might be? Other than maybe tanks or Humvees most combat vehicles that come to mind have fixed weapons unless manned by someone other than the pilot. Attack jets and helicopters come to mind...

We get it. You can't shoot straight so you want the game to do all that tedious aiming stuff for you...

F22 Raptor, currently one of the most advanced aircraft ....

Vulcan 20mm cannon in a fixed mount.
