Mirrior Signal Maneuver - free stuff

Anyone wanting 440 Basic medicines, head over to dehan gateway, I have just delivered them all over the entrance, when I hit it and exploded... Sigh..... this Lakon type 9 heavy, handles like an office block full of custard, powered by an asthmatic ant, turning a hand cranked propeller

Aww, it's not that bad - powered by a hamster in a wheel :)

Take it slow with 4 pips in shields and you should have a real hard time exploding on docking/takeoff. I survived getting jammed in between the cow catcher and an Anaconda that thought it was a good idea to charge into the gate when I was in the middle of the blue exiting. Power to shields goes a loooong way. Have had to zero thrust and edge myself out sidewas with the sideways thrusters more than once after someone having richochet off my side. Also, keep the thing low going through the letterbox; the cockpit sits near the bottom of the ship.

That said, the Dahan station seems to be rather buggy. It keeps microstuttering around etc almost every time I am there. It is the only station to consistently misbehave for me in PB2 (makes one remember how PB1 was a lot of the time and makes one really see the improvements ^^ ).

Anyhow, apologies if you are not looking for piloting tips, they are meant in good spirit and are of course free to ignore if they do not apply (you may be quite versed in piloting your Lakon and just exploded by a bug).

/Merf - Found the space cow rather enjoyable to fly.

I thought the 1st message was a spambot for a second...:D

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

You want to try having your first experience of flying a Lakon whilst wearing an Oculus Rift for the first time, on someone else's PC with their control setup, at midnight after having had a few beers. Then being told as you were lifting off that they probably didn't have the cash to replace it if you destroy it.

Then. Watch as another commander in a Cobra boosts into the station and hits you, putting you into a spin.

Twitchy bum moment.

The good news is that I didn't die. Gained a few more grey hairs though.

You were so right about Dahan. I went there on one trip... ONE TRIP this morning, made it though the 'close your eyes and cross your fingers' entrance to the starport, got all lined up with the pad, feet out... started to descend .................... the station glitched, I was way off center, and exploded ................ lost my 1 million credit ship, lost my 440 cargo containers and their cost, and I am now back to a sidewinder with 27,000 credits to my name....

choice words were said.

:(

The desire to quickly make back your losses after your first mishap is hard to resist... But cost you dear. I was trading all yesterday with 75% of my spare cash, now I've got more risk averse and held back 50%.

Now the only dramas I get are twitchy stations. I've only blown up once; on my maiden voyage, as another Lakon pilot tried coming though the letterbox at the same time! The cow is rubbish to fly around, but docking provides a certain graceful challenge. 4 pips to Shields-aways when near a station.

Only 20 more days and we all get wiped... Time to practice the dogfighting.

Well it will be a week or so now before I am back up to mammoth size again..... but if you (the general population) happen to see a tiny ship following your type 9 heavy..... it's probably me reminiscing over past days...

I see my first travel though the universe as a dry run... now I am better informed about how things work, I should hopefully get back where I was pretty fast..

famous last words...

You must have been in a hurry? ;)

Technical question: Since there are several servers it is possible for everyone to see your cargo or just for those who joined the same server as you did?

About half an hour ago I got my own Space Cow and it really is very slow and temperamental in its flight. It certainly is quite something else to the Cobra. I am liking the 440 units of cargo that I can load, but all the rest. Well, if a pirate does come along I know I won't be able to outrun or outfight him, so I'll probably be sharing some of my cargo with him/her.

I'll also make sure that I do have the insurance and a bit extra covered, as losing a ship this expensive is quite a dent in your pocket book.

Anyway, hope you'll get another Space Cow soon and try to keep some extra credits in your account. ;)
