Ok is it just me or are the servers the worst they've ever been today?

I don't know if this is Easter Sunday, or some change they have made related to the new "Network" options in the options menu but the game has never been as unplayable for me as it is right now.

12 minutes hyper jump followed by a 16 minute hyper jump, followed by a disconnect (the servers remained greyed out until i reopned the game 5 mins later).

Went back in, 6 minute hyper jump followed by disconnect rinse repeat.

My internet is fine, and this is the first time its ever been this unplayable.

Anyone else having issues here?

A lot of players always, after a new release.

I got dumped out and couldn't reconnect earlier. Happily it coincided with me realising that I'd logged out about two months ago at Robigo and couldn't be bothered flying back to the bubble anyway.

I've been getting this weird bug, but it only happens in Open and only when I'm in my pilot seat in first-person - the FPS shoots down to 30 or even below 20!

- Go into camera suite, FPS shoots back up to 60.
- Go into galaxy map, FPS shoots back up to 60.
- Go into System Map, FPS shoots back up to 60.
- Go into Private Group, FPS shoots back up to 60.
- Go into Solo, FPS shoots back up to 60.

Go back into Open Play after logging out and into other modes? Shoots right back down to below 20 frames-per-sec.

Doesn't get any better unless I restart the client.

It has to be related to server performance and multicrew interacting with the HUD (even though I'm not doing any MC at all).

EDIT: Also, lots of disconnects in any game mode.

EDIT: Wondering if its the history tab of what commander's you've met causing a problem (as the list just gets bigger and bigger).

This might sound weird but my PC performance when i tab out of the game is awful now, it used to be fine. I'd say memory leak but i have 16gig

Unfortunately, there are services in this game that FD have no control over what-so-ever. (internet/pier-2-pier).
ED is a 'mish-mash' of technologies all 'hoping' to work together. Lag, connection fails, endless loops in hyperspace
are a result of Frontiers ridiculous coms design. Because of this the game can become unstable, unpredictable and unplayable.

Hi guys,

For new players finding this thread from the support site, please do run through the basic checks on QA-Mitch's post quoted below:

If you find that this doesn't resolve your issue and you're happy that you've checked everything on the list then you'll also be happy to know that our lovely QA team are investigating further. We are currently looking into correlations between playing in private group/open modes and drastically reduced frame-rates but this isn't set in stone just yet.

To help with the investigation can you please add any netlogs obtained from solo and open modes where your framerate differs greatly to this thread. If you need a hand creating netlogs please check this FAQ article.

Thanks so much for your patience, everyone. We do apologise for the inconvenience caused if you have encountered this issue though.

Note: As much as the lovely guys here in the support would love to be able to help, once you've followed all the above steps then it's down to our QA team to figure out the rest. Please help us respond to people who desperately need our help with other issues by closing any existing tickets you have about this issue and continue contributing to this thread instead. We very much appreciate it!

It's odd that the server status on the launcher says "OK", when clearly it's not.

It's also odd that there's a message on the launch screen about a known issue to do with player assets, but no mention of a known issue with servers.

One would have thought some tish tosh about assets really is a null point given the circumstances.

Thats not what the "ok" means there. It just means the server is up, not what kind of quality it has after you connect.

Maybe it's not wise to drop a major update before a holiday weekend if you can't or won't respond to issues. It's not like this doesn't happen each major update.

I've probably had more disconnects since 2.3 than in all of the preceding 2 years! Coincidence?

...yeah, it's probably my ISP's fault!

Interesting.

I have nothing in the background going or updating, only affected thing is the game. I almost needed fuel rats, disconnected on the same jump 6 times and had no fuel left!

Just to see if we can narrow it down..

I live in England and am using Virgin Media 100mbs Fibre.

If anyone else is having difficulties and have a similar ISP/situation to above let me know.

I have symmetrical 300MBps fiber and had the same issues.

Not just you noctover.

I've had a couple of extended hyperjumps and a few more disconnects that usual.

I put it down to the Easter long weekend and the 2.3 release...meaning potentially a heap more players on than usual.

I've had way more disconnects since 2.3 than over the past few years. Probably 10 in as many hours. I'm going to stop playing until it's fixed as the disconnects and uber long hyperspace jumps and just really annoying. I know it will be addressed and I'm not worried or throwing my toys out of the pram in any way, I'm simply adding my experience to the pile.

Hi all, have passed along the issues reported over to the team. My apologies for the issues experienced.

If you fix the issues for everyone else it'll probably break the smooth, seamless play experience I've had throughout the last day or so.

So, let's keep this one on the down-low eh.
