Elite explorer!!! Meh

After playing the game since day one Alpha and after several restarts - most recently when horizons launched, I am finally Elite rank in something!

I will bask in this moment of triumph for several more seconds before the realisation hits me that it really it is no big deal and Will not in any meaningful way change my fortunes for the better in game! [down]

No this is not a rant, just feeling a little underwhelmed that my finest achievement in game is little more recognised than any other.

Anyway, drinks are on me ladies and gentlemen over at Jameson Memorial!

Here's to a pointless ranking system!

Yeahn the only achievement is sort of simply playing long enough. But any occasion to have a drink is worth it, so for that, we are grateful.

I thought getting Elite in any rank gave you access to a specific system and in the system you can buy everything at a discount?

Or am I misunderstood?

Indeed it does unless you are a Founder (Kickstarter pledge level) or higher, in which case you have had access since day one.

Quite so. Coupled with all of the Elite missions already being offered to allied commanders of that faction and there is very little in the way of benefits. Bless my wife though she understands my first world problems...

That system is no joke... it has all the ships and all the modules. A perfect staging point for building a fleet. It prompted me to take a 45,000 LY round trip to finish out pioneer->elite. I'm about 4,000 LY away from hopefully hitting elite up here in Colonia.
