It feels like someone is doing their job wrong

I'm asking the same thing! a reaction, like any kind of, to this thread by an official would really bring some positivity into this

Like what? The OP basically said he would like 'more': more cosmetics, more gameplay, more galnet, more evetything. Everyone agrees: more stuff is good. What do you expect FD to say? "Ah, now we get it. We werevjust drinking cocktails all day, but you want us to give more? Right on it!"

There isnt an actual idea in this topic beyond us wanting more, faster, an presumably without paying extra. I doubt that is how anything in the world works.

I'm not asking for solutions, I'm asking for a response about how they understand the concern and will provide something to fix the discontent voiced by many here.

For space jesus sake, could you please put the contrarian act on hold for a minute? You've added less than nothing to this thread besides the antagonistic trolling.
Frontier could at least have the good grace to acknowledge the problems, and discuss with us how they plan to address it. So far we've had a Community manage re-open a thread that should never have been closed and the mod that closed it kinda came off like they were doing us a favour by doing so... We've all paid for a product here, a product that was advertised to be a very continual development with a view to continue asking for money deep into the future. I think we've got the right to question where the product is being guided both during the period we have already paid for and in future.

Given the massive responses here and on Reddit, I'd say it would be good business sense for Frontier to not only reply but engage in meaningful discourse with their user base at this point.

Yeah, I yell insults when someone does anything other than '+1' me too.

Wrong.

Like it or not you've received the product you paid for. While it would certainly be nice if Frontier told us more about current developments, directions, etc, they're not under any actual obligation to do so unless you are a shareholder.

No I haven't, they haven't finished with season 2 yet...

I'm starting to notice that the loudest critics of ED after 2.3 are primarily the vets who have been with this project since the Kickstarter.

That should send a few chills down the spine of the recent arrivals, and quite possibly the usual suspects of resident Apologists.

I don't like being this negative about a game I play more than any other in literally 2 decades! I built a $4500.00 PC specifically to play this game at MAX settings, no holds bared 4k goodness at 65"OLED!

I would have never done that for any other game but this one. I'm a Mac user, I typically despise Windows for its bloated, antiquated unreliability! (Now that I own another Windows PC, I can see that my opinion needs no adjustments even 25 years later) ;)

But seriously... Frontier has some damage control to do after this latest 4 day long server outage/buggabo. I hope they don't squander a perfect opportunity to reach out to fans, give them a strong and clear vision of what is coming, while basically deciding once and for all to make some much needed changes to the direction this train has been running.

Wow, You took the font's right out of my mouth, Mid 50's here, and from day 1, have loved this game, I also spent a similar amount to get the most out of this game, at the moment FD have taken skimmer mission away, as well as my data scanning abilities when on the surface, I think we should copy this thread and send it to them.

I've said for ages now that we need obvious links between Factions & Powers. Helping a Faction should aid its affiliated Power.....& Vice Versa. Likewise, if you're pledged to a Power, then certain Faction Missions should carry the Power-Play symbol....meaning that completing said mission should help your Pledged Power (or hurt an opposing faction) in some specific fashion (Preparation, Control, Fortification & Undermining) as well as earning you extra merits. In a similar fashion, systems that are in turmoil (Famine, Outbreak etc) should be much easier to take control of than strong systems (Boom, Expansion etc).

As a working example-lets say that there is an uncontrolled system that is currently suffering from an outbreak, & your pledged power has an affiliated Faction in that system. Such a system would require fewer points to prepare, & there might be donation missions & missions for delivery of medical cargo that have the Power Play symbol next to them. Completing missions like this will help your power to prepare that system for takeover, & earn you merits in the meantime. This would create much greater synergy between Power Play & the rest of the game, IMHO.

They may still be placeholders, just perhaps that they're waiting for the overhaul of military careers before changing Conflict Zones into something more solid.

Not just CZs, hopefully. When two factions are at war, I'd expect them to try to control their system, checking out arrivals, offering missions (while in flight!) to those loyal to them, while attempting to chuck out those aligned with the other power (this does not mean they have to attack -- traders carrying vital goods might even be offered incentives to sell to THEM, not their enemies...)

Which they're not under any obligation to tell you about. They could release free pink ship-skins for all ships and call it 2.4 if they wanted.

They could, but it would be monumentally stupid of them to do that. Especially considering the past week... I am not saying they are legally obliged to do anything. Morally and probably sensibly they should.

'Morally'? Oh, come on.

FDev are already one of the more open game companies out there. Try this sort of stuff with EA and see how far you get.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if they were even more open, but they're not under any obligation to be so, and it can be counterproductive. Some people will take stuff the wrong way, hear promises where none were made, etc.

Play the game you have. Enjoy it. Look forward to whatever they decide to bring the table next. E|D is a far from perfect game (2.3 didn't add much for me, personally) but they are working on it.

What are they open about!?! The live streams are basically hours long "Sorry, no info" comments and then a sales pitch for store items. It's been 18months man, 18months and three patches that have added... not much.

I understand that theyre running a buisness, but you gotta throw me a bone if you expect to sell me expansions and cosmetics.

They've added quite a lot - multi-crew, Holo-Me, asteroid bases, megaships, etc. You mean they haven't added much that you care about. Same here, to a large extent, but I'm fairly content with what I have, and I'm fairly sure they'll keep adding to it. Some of what they add I'll like, some I won't care about.

And like I say, compared to other game companies FDev are practically inviting you round for coffee every Thursday.

There's a bunch of people that do care, both here and on reddit...

Actually if you read this thread there are a lot of us saying we don't want any more new content, just FD to concentrate on the features they have already introduced. I've even gone so far as to say I'd pay full DLC season pass for them to not release any further content and spend a season/year (whatever) just working on the stuff that's already in game.

I get what you are saying and in reality you are probably right but these forums are our platform for discussing the game and raising our concerns.....not all of us want "new shiny tomorrow if not sooner". I'd rather they took their time and got these features fixed or improved....and I'd pay them to do it.

That my be true, but i am quite sure the coffee will be a cheap flavourless brand
