Adding Music to Game Folder or Write Code for Music Plugin

In Rebel Galaxy's options you have the ability to do this:

How likely is it that we will be able to do so ourselves in the future? I'm already a diehard fan of the game, but if you did this I'd be positively fanatic! [yesnod]

nah, so many other priorities.

modern pc's let you multi-task and stream whatever music you want.

Only new audio I want in the game needs to be from the game world itself. And FD don't have the resources to do GTA style radio loops.

But, it's been requested a lot. Just not a prio for me.

Yes, but do they know when you enter/exit combat? How am I supposed to change my exploring/ambient music to combat music without stopping combat? Do you know how easy this code would be to write?
