Passenger Missions Beluga vs Anaconda

With the way that passenger missions are working, what benefits does the Beluga have over the Annie? I have only just started doing them and have noticed that you never get more than 8 passengers and rarely get missions requiring a Luxury cabin. Or at least not any that pay significantly higher than first class.

If the max passengers equal 8, then the Annie would be better as it can hold a mixture of cabins (10 in total) seating 8 or more., whereas the Beluga can only have 7 cabins seating 8 or more with a few little cabins left over. With this in mind, if for instance each 8 passenger mission paid 1 million, then the Annie would triumph over the Beluga for sheer income. The Beluga's 4 smaller cabins are no match for the 3 extra large cabins the Annie gets, credits wise that is.

I may be overlooking something, but from what I gather, the Beluga isn't as good as the Annie for the passenger mission grind and the Annie would make you alot more credits faster than the Beluga.

The Beluga has exactly two benefits over the Anaconda.

1. You can carry luxury passengers (although there are very few missions for them so it's a bit moot)
2. You can buy yourself a liner captains hat off Amazon and pretend you're captain of a cruise liner.

In all other ways, the Anaconda is a better passenger ship.

You've got it right.
Been discussed many times.

Same applies to Orca

Likewise, as niffty as the Dolphin is, other ships can do medium pad Passenger Missions as well or better.

Since the last update I actually prefer the beluga over the anaconda in the case of bubble sightseeing missions.
The Beluga's jump range is now good enough and it is much more agile than an anaconda, both in supercruise and normal flight.

For long distance passenger missions the Anaconda is still king I think.

I have two luxury cabins and one first class on my beluga. Could be more than that but the sessions would become too long for me.
Most missions I care about fit in the class 6 luxury cabins anyway.

The most obvious problem to me is that the big 3 haven't had their larger compartments converted to combat slots.

Unless FD changes it so that military slots can take cargo racks, that would make those ships useless for piracy, mining, hauling... anything other than combat

Thought as much. Just sold my Orca and fitted up my Conda with all cabins to abuse this until its nerfed/fixed :p

Agreed. All ships should get this treatment, but for other things too, just to classify and restrict THAT ship to its own field. e.g. Cutters class 8's for cargo only seeing as its a trader, make certain slots on Asp only allow fuel scoop, scanners and AFM, etc. Things like that.

Fuel tank, luxury cabins, supercruise agility. Probably not enough for many people to take the Beluga over the Anaconda, unless we consider roleplay, but if we consider roleplay the ship doesn't matter anyway.

what benefit?
it costs about the half

and its not even considered to be in the same league as the "big 3" - hence they call it the "big 3", not the "big 5".

Hello CMDR's

Profit from passengers aside and due to the cost and insurance of the Anaconda, I outfitted a Beluga for an alien hunt, with 64T in cargo space, a fighter bay with two fighters, and an SRV Hanger and SRV.

Jump range is 25Ly when empty, 50Ly with 3xBoost. Of course, no guns or offensive weapons needed. The fighters help with rapid surveys of planets and are useful in other ways.

Any opinions?

Wat???Beluga hunter,Vulture trader,Battle Orca,Corvette explorer,T9 CZ battleship...no,no,no something is very wrong here...

I flew the Annie for a good while before getting my Vette but after that, Annie went to the used ship lot.

I have a Beluga for passenger missions and I think it's great.

Just for the fun tonight, I bought another Annie, outfitted it, and took it on a passenger mission. Completed the mission and went back to Jameson, stripped it, and sold it. No sir...

For stacking passenger missions, with L5 FSD and L5 Dirty Drives, it's Beluga for the win.

It looks nice, flies nice, and sounds nice.

When I fly the Annie, I feel like the captain of an oil tanker.

ive been doing passenger missions in both ships and both types of passenger missions // transport & sightseeing

i use them like this:
~ beluga for sightseeing mission, its quick, fast, easier to dock
~ anaconda for transporting with loads of economy cabins works perfect

the beluga is nice but, for transporting it just doesnt have the space needed

im currently in a circle of about 10 systems and have been working them pretty hard with beluga but, i had to jump from system to system over and over to get a trade rank increase
i changed up to my anaconda and even though its slower than beluga the payoff is way better .. the trade rank increase is faster and i enjoy seeing the trade rank move up sooner with less work

i run my anaconda for transport like this:
80 economy
36 buisiness
12 first

best payout so far is a 1.4 million transport mission within my 10 system route
and they are all within a jump of each other and the missions stay within the same systems usually, which is nice too

Give Beluga a try, it has wonderful cockpit, agility and decent jump. Most comfortable ship to drive and to be in. I have now all of them four biggest ships. My Conda jumps far - 60 ly, but in supercruise it is a fat cow, my Corvette is fair agile and it is a killer, but it jumps 20 ly. My Cutter jumps 28, it is a damn mama more clumsy than conda. My Beluga jumps 38 with 4 passengers cabins, I really love the view from its cockpit and just how she flies! Outstanding ship, formerly underestimated a lot.

so long story short......!?

if you want to make FAST cash get a conda?
if you don't want to make fast cash get a Beluga???

For me, it's pretty simple...

1. I hate flying the Conda
2. I love flying the Beluga

Plus, the Beluga just looks better and sounds better. I don't even own a Conda anymore.

It's gold INSIDE?

I like the Beluga but that's a bit kinda, a bit much.

I keep my Beluga parked out at an Alliance money printer I know.
I've been taking a lot of rebuys lately, so I went out to restock the war chest.
Still keep catching the tail in the toastrack, and coming in to swap back to the DBX to come home to the bubble, I have to land on a 2.5 G planet, which is kinda hairy.
But yeah, I really enjoy my big ferry.

Nice screenie.

The gold look inside was probably just dim lighting but even if not, all I see is the dash anyway.

I just wish the golden paint job was polished.

The answer is obviously the Dolphin or Orca since the most effective missions are sub 10 maximum business class vip ~100ly sightseeing or transport jobs for 2-4m cr each from boom systems.

Both of the ships handle that job perfectly and are cheap.
