For what it's worth, while I've not found any listening posts, I went to both Horae and Alaunus,,, didn't find anything within 1,000Ls of any stellar body.

Might just be the OP's mission. Besides, surely the puzzle here is saying they were heading from Alaunus TO Horae. Don't assume they actually arrived!

By george, you may be onto something there. I did indeed encounter a listening post, but I don't recall where it was. It WAS shortly before I noticed I had received that message. I don't know that it has anything to do with any mission, I wasn't actually ON a mission at the time.

I went to the Alaunus system, which was nearby, but I saw nothing there. I even investigated the many, many unidentified signals I encountered as I searched each and every planet and moon, but found nothing whatsoever of any interest.

Anyone have any idea what this might be about?

OP try looking in systems that are between Alaunus and Horae.

I saw that, I'm scouting the systems surrounding the route, as well as the system near Horae.

So far, nothing out of the ordinary except a lockdown in the Shangdi system. Not sure why it's locked down, but they are at war with Horae, apparently.

If the systems are next to each other the message could be old, pre FSD technology and related to the missing. How far is it from Sol? Maybe try targeting Horae and fly there in SC? Could be that you find something similar to the voyager.

I'll try that too, once I've searched the surrounding systems. I may have to go back to base to get a ship with a larger fuel tank. However, as I have an Advanced D Scanner on my ship, would it not detect something like that, regardless of the distance?

I searched all the systems surrounding the route between Alaunus and Horae, and found nothing of note. I had previously searched all the objects in the Alaunus system, but that seemed to be the place to start again.

I checked out the message, and after the suggestion to fly toward Horae, I did so, starting from the "edge" of the system, the 10th planet. Some distance out, I encountered something.

Travelled out to the generation ship in VR today ... boy oh boy, soooo atmospheric. An amazing experence and those audio logs ... sent shivers down my spine!
