THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

It definitely seems strange that the Zurara had power knowing that F Dev have no difficulty in powering them down. Gotta be something to that methinks.

Just a warning to people looking for the generation ship, dropping into the instance dumps you right next to the ship and it is completely powered down barring a few blinking navigation lights. Be careful or you could run right into it.

She is a terrorist and has a lot to answer for, but she definitely seems to have information that neither the Feds or Imps want to get out. Remember the bounty says not to communicate with her.

From my characters point of view she's a traitor and a terrorist. Regardless of what information she claims to have the ends never justify the means and she needs to answer for her crimes. It would be better to take her alive for trial but history has demonstrated the dangers of that. Kill on sight.

This ! But she is supposed to have died already.
Witches must be burnt to ashes.
So we are sure they never come back.

To be fair she is a bit of entitled Imperial Emo brat but with a bit of guidance she has become an improved person. She has information I think we all need to hear. Only Extremist Imperials will try and stop her. Feds seem not too bothered and she has a lot of Alliance support ( and Imp support I might add. )

Sap Cores only concern is with Yuri Nakamura, he is our guy now.

If he doesn't make it then we will feel it will be a Sap Core failure.

Fair comment. +1

Cool find. Just took a look and it has some nice audio logs. I just wonder why they didn't use a model like this for the Zurara, it looks realy cool all dark with just some small light flickering here and there. :)

It's a pity that the habitation rings are still spinning after almost a thousand years though.

Finally got my Sol permit!... which after all may not be required, after getting distracted for a week :( .. so I need to catch up and head to check out the Megaship that was found, I've avoided seeing or reading anything about it as I wanted to experience it first hand. I fitted out a Diamondback scout for the 29th, I just hope 31LY jump range is enough... but at least I can run away as it does 480m/s
I'm really hoping that something will come out of Col 70 and we're all be running back to the core with our tail between our legs!

What happened to Hassan.. been no mention of him.. did he get dumped.. did Salomé realise he was double crossing her to save his own skin!

Found it, the ship was awesome... until epic pro skill git gud FDLs and Vettes came. Recommend going in Solo or PG if you wanna check it out, unless you wanna go for it, the place is like a CZ.

That lot were around this morning too. At least they were goading commanders in SC so those who wanted to survive could change game mode.

I don't know if you're aware how long the Rift stuff has been in the game and how closely they worked on it with Drew, but it seems like they put a lot of specific details following Drew's word. So, If the Zurara looks alive then it's probably on purpose.

Also, The Zarura may be fully working for a reason that we haven't worked out yet. It's obvious there's enough content there and the community gave up searching for it too soon in the previous years. Now with the MEgaships and new developments, there's only going to be more content which calls for more indepth searching of the areas.

Yes I do know, I've been searching for the Mer for months of my life, believe me nobody gave up looking for it.

There is nothing left to find in the Formadine believe me, everything from here on is at the core of the problem.

I do know politics of the gaming industry though, We were too slow to find what was in the rift, 2.3 drops and they shove a generic massive ship in there and force feed us the clues to find it so the event on the 29th is all wrapped up bish bash bosh.

Lets not pretend its anything else, I have no issue with that but Fdev could have switched the damned lights off first.

I'm normally quite cynical, but I do think the lights are on for a reason, if the generation ship was lit also - I'd say slapdash programming.
Also paid for voice acting on the logs, no this all looks deliberate to me.
Lots of poweful folk want these folk dead for the information they hold- that's valuable - more valuable than some piddling bounty.

We need to find more Gen Ships, if they also have fallen foul.........

Hi, not sure if this is of any interest.

Found a small persistent POI - but can't find anything in the vicinity. May be a bug, don't know. Will try to post image.

So everybody, who doesn't support Salome/Kahina and has different opinion on the flow of the things is a ganker? That speaks volumes of her supporters.

I wonder, if there's some organised opposition and I don't mean those gankers, but simply players/groups, who are not so brainwashed and want her arrested and properly judged in front of a court - be it Federation or Imperium allied pilots/groups.

There is no arrest here. The only two options given are they die for good or they make it to where they're going. Let's be honest, in this dystopian future there would be no fair trail anyways. If there is some great coverup than why not let them get to where they're going, see what happens and then decide if they should live or die?

Drew said planetary landings aren't in the plan but it still might be a good idea to have horizons just in case the plan changes. It may be something but is probably unrelated.

All answers based on story and lore (as far as I know it):

…I want her to survive, Im not a CoR fan girl I just want to know whats gone on in the past.

She always promised to reveal some secrets but never revealed anything. How often are you willing to listen to promises until you simply don't trust somebody?
Does she really know something? There is not even a slight indication that she might know something.

She's on a mission she believes will right a great wrong. She's willing to die in order that the message is heard, she's putting everything she has onto one throw of the dice, this is her "Alamo" moment.…

In the Prism incident she showed that she absolutely can't be trusted to make decisions that might affect thousands, if not millions or billions of people. Rushed decisions made purely based on emotions and what she considers her right - and later (partly) regretting it.
People who think they are right are those who commit the worst crimes. People who think they are right and act without thinking about consequences are those who cause suffering for many.
Are you willing to risk the deaths of innocents, just because a woman thinks she is on a mission?

It would be better to take her alive for trial but history has demonstrated the dangers of that. Kill on sight.

That's, sadly from my out of game point of view, the most logical conclusion. If she had some information she could just reveal those informations.

From my characters point of view, neither the Imps nor the Feds can be trusted and if they want someone dead, its enough reason for me to keep this person alive.

Only the Empire has issued a bounty. That "don't communicate" is from the Empire.
The Federation and the Alliance are not involved in this, at least form what Salomé said (for all I know) - unless you take the comments about the Alliance, Federation and Empire of R. into account.
If all three super powers are involved:
There could be reasons why those informations are kept secret by the Empire, Federation and Alliance. That all three super powers apparently try to cover up something should be enough to at least make you wonder what all this is about.
Is Salomé really the right person to make a decision that might affect a lot of people? Would you let her decide for you just because you don't like the superpowers?

Out of game view:
All those I quoted offered interesting and valid opinions and reasons. Thanks for that, I enjoy such conversations.

As a player interested in the story and the progression of the story I surely want the character Salomé to survive the April 29. event and I hope she will reveal interesting information.
At the same time I'm a bit struggling to find good reasons why my in-game character should care about what happens to Salomé.

That said, I'm enjoying this episode of Elite Dangerous. Thanks to all who are creating this (especially Drew)

Along those lines, I proposed that she not be eliminated on the 29th, as doing so might actually elevate her importance to some:
A-Case-for-Kahina

I don't truly believe CoR would try to murder/martyr their muse, but wanted to throw that out there. Not every Apostle is/was a Saint
