Picture this, the Col 70 lock comes down on the 29th and "flower" ships start popping up all over and stunning folks - as I recall in the original Elite they hit 50 systems.
Also, would be a helluva time to re-introduce the Tyley-Feynman Quirium Cascade Mine aka the Q-bomb - maybe thats what the meta alloys were for...... hmmm, I wonder who has the only video of one in action.... why a Mister D Wagar .... co-incidence ?

I'd like to be there and travel along as an observer in open, but want to know what's happening in the story and commentary of the event as it unfolds.

Thanks. Got the FAQ now... so it's a chase or trail beginning in 46 Eridani.

I hope I can take part. We got our neigbors for lunch here. :eek:
Do we know how long this will take? So I can join in later?

Hopefully the main characters won't die the first 5 minutes... would be sad. Would be sad actually if all of them die in the first place.

Am I a bad person for wanting them all to die almost immediately?

Are CoR going to gank me now? Will Erimus curse me and say naughty words to spite me?

CoR are going to gank me aren't they. I'll try to let the Murder Penguin know what they do to people they kidnap and torture before the same fate befalls them.

Come on. They aren't so bad. As long as you treat with their average cultists or Inner Circle Consuls.
Different thing is when you are introduced to one of their Inquisitor.

Or a free Sidewinder with a full fuel tank and the throttle opened all the way up. If only we didn't have this silly speed limit and our ships could fly properly, it would be a dead simple fix. Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest SOB in space, after all.

But if you listened to the log entries the power was sabotaged which killed the ship and thence the crew. If there was enough power to run the lights and artificial gravity system (without the whole ship rotating due to friction and angular momentum) then the surviving crew could have used it to lash together some sort of heating and life support.

Was excited to take part, then I joined the Discord sever. I think I'll have to bow out of this one as I really have no interdicting skill, I won't "git gud" in pvp in 4 days, and I think I'll be more of a liability than an asset. I hope it is fun, and look forward to all possible outcomes.

Left for 9 months, seems I came back to what appears to be new and exciting events that may turn out to be more of the same. I can still remember ages ago thinking "Ha, I figured it out" and racing back out to the Rift yet again to carefully scan a series of incredibly uninteresting planets.

Hello to all the names I recognize .. and those I don't.

Looking forward to your new book Drew. I read and re-read all of the official stories based on the certainty that there were critical clues there in, one of the things that burned me out a bit was how little they had to do with ED the game, I like the idea of writing from a commentator perspective who happens to maybe just know what's about to happen.

That's why Drew sometimes uses greek mythology to give clues.
Would the Galaxy be named in chinese, he'd use chinese mythology and most of us would be in deep ... concern.

(BTW is there a Dragon nebula ? )

How about a little anagram?

Raan Corsen -> 'A Core SN Ran' or 'Core SN Rana'

SN is short for star name.

Ran is Epsilon Eridani. The closest Eridani star to Sol(heart of the core) and home to two shady minor factions.
- Sublime order of Van Maanen star. An old strange religious sect, with a history back to FE2.
- Independent Flee of Mothership. This one is not listed in INARA. Never seen it before. Might be new in 2.3 as a replacement for the equally strange faction, Worldcraft.
Epsilon Eridani is also on of the systems described in the FE2 Gazzeteer.

Rana(Delta Eridani) is the second closest Eridaini star to Sol. Not much more to say about that one.
