It's looking possible for me to go ... let me explain ...
If I split up my journey like this ...
Blackpool ---> Preston coach station
Preston coach station ---> Leeds train station
Leeds ---> Hull (train)
I can get into Hull for 9am for about £24, and therefore would cost me the same to get back. It's a lot of separate little journeys, but I *can* do it.
Now, here's the problems ...
I can't afford to stay overnight
I can't afford to pay to get into the event
I'd need to know ASAP the finish time so I can look into travelling back
I am willing to work at the event if it means I don't have to pay to get in.
I would need someone to pick me up from Hull train station and take me to the event and take me back to Hull train station later in the day (because I am not paying for a taxi)
But I could do this and be there.
I don't think you realise what you're getting yourself into. If you did know, you'd run. Far away. As fast as you can.
Would be great if you could make it.... I'm sure it can all be worked out...
If you want to get a Taxi from the Station to the Hotel that's your choice, but you might find it quicker to walk the 100yards or so from the station to the hotel... Just my penn'orth

It'd be great if you can make it, Alien! We didn't really get chance to chat much at Lavecon with all the rushing around (i was the guy in the Sulaco t-shirt lol )

As the others have mentioned, the hotel is literally a hundred yards walk from the station, so no need to worry about a taxi
Darren has mentioned here that it'll go on for as long as people are awake! So if you get the latest combination of trains i'm sure you'll be ok

I'm just waiting to get paid next and see what I can afford, then I can confirm I am coming .... TO THE EVENT (you lot have a dirty mind) ... and then I can confirm things like volunteering
There'll be a lot going on in the evening, and some of us will doubtless be staying up till 3am or so chatting Elite. If you want to really enjoy the event I strongly suggest staying the night! Or at least leaving very late
I will be there. And at £25 (even if I did have to phone rather than email) for the hotel, that was a no brainer, too, even though I live in God's Own County, so it is a short trip down the M62.
