Patch Notes Update Update 2.3.01

Quite frankly, a business directing a snide remark at their entire customer base comes off as rather unprofessional, if not a touch petulant. I do like how the video game industry tends to engender a more informal relationship between company and customer, but it only goes so far.

I played for couple of hours earlier today and could see an improved Galaxy Map. From what I can tell it is back to behaving normally, (read: same behavior as pre 2.3 including the minor problem with the panel on the left side ), on my 3440x1440 display.

*Edit* - placeholder. Currently away from gaming computer. I will post screenshot(s) later this evening.

Are you in the UK by any chance?
I'm not, but I was wondering if the NHS wouldn't cover having that stick removed.

Re: the salt comment, sometimes I say something rude and inappropriate because it's far too funny not to say. The salt comment was funny. Yeah, it's snide, and you could read into it pretty badly, but we're only human. Sometimes when we see an opportunity to say something hilarious, it's gotta' get said.

I'm away from my gaming computer for a few days myself, and am being terribly impatient with this Galaxy Map question:

Is the fix just to the offset pop-ups, or does the patch also fix the problem of not being able to click on a far-off bookmark and go to it?

(And sorry, I'm sure someone else has asked this already. If I'm too impatient to wait to see myself, do you think I'm patient enough to read every page of the thread? I'm just a bad person tonight...)

The map pop up issue is fixed on 2560 x 1440 resolution (SS=1.0). So are the star textures upon entering a system. So are the FPS drops (albeit they aren't fully back to normal, I noticed a consistent drop of 10-20 across the board compared to my standard values.

You have a tinnie in each hand, admit it!

The constant and overly annoying beeping when in the presence of many ships either in stations, res or combat areas it's still present.
Bummer.

lest we get punished by not being given the same access to the game as everyone else, amirite?

Blame microsoft.

Every update to a game has to be certified by microsoft before it can be released.

Developers of games would love to have their players all playing the same build regardless of platform but sadly those companies work to their own schedule.

No, I'm not either/or saying anything. I'm saying that the situation sucks and FD is directly responsible for making it that way.

Move the event? From what I can see it's what most people wanted anyway...

So it's worse than early May? Nice...

So because Drew made the call to keep the event on schedule, it's FDevs fault... I fail to see the logic in that...

Also is your math chip broken? perhaps it has a flaw... as mentioned the FDev post was 4 days ago, so that is 3 more days for the first week (of the couple of weeks), that puts the release date of an XBOX patch towards the end of the first week of May (approx)... Perhaps you should just shut up... honestly... all this salt being mined for what? because you got your panties in a twist over the XBOX minor update patch not being released at the same time as the PC minor update patch...

Yeah I am on PC, and yeah there are still bugs in the PC version... perhaps the XBOX patch should be delayed until all the bugs are out of the major PC code base and then they can be applied to the XBOX code base... But seriously, both platforms have some different issues, both platforms have different development teams assigned to them, along with no doubt another team dedicated to the back end server stuff...

Go outside, get some air, visit some friends... stretch the legs and most importantly... relax... things will get fixed in due course... I understand your disappointment with not being able to take part in the events on the 29th (as it is looking like to be the case at this moment in time)...

Who knows perhaps something will come out for XBOX before then, they have said they are working hard on the problems for XBOX and will release a patch ASAP for it...

What more can FDev do honestly??? They have communicated fairly well on this I feel
