THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

I've just come off the briefing and question session on the Allied discord and there is a bit more info that may help people, regardless of if (like me) they don't like the no guns stuff, or you are dancing to their tune.

Firstly I will say the chap running the show, Jubei Himure, is considerably more agreeable in voice than in text. Eg he talked at length about there rules of engagement and why they are imposing them. I still don't agree with them, but I do understand them from there point of view. He also said he is well aware that this is causing a lot of upset with people, and he does not like, but it is the safest why for them to achieve there objective, which ostensibly is the same as most of us rifters. However there does seem to be an amendment that help people like me, who want to help Salome etc, but do not want to be following other peoples orders or rules:

Ships with weapons that are not on their white list, will be fine, if they move outside of 1000Ls of a system's primary star, where action is taking place. If you stay within 1000Ls, you will be interdicted/attacked. If you are on that discord, you may then be called into help in fighting. Also, ideally you will be challenged and asked to move 1000Ls+ away first.

Of course given there are over 3000 people now on that discord I expect these 'rules' to be pretty sloppily enforced so I would advise others people, with guns, on Salomes side, to still expect to be considered an enemy by that force. However this does open up a little more opportunity as opposed to a blanket KOS.

Bottom line is that I'll return fire on ships that attack me. And if attacked by my CoR "allies" I'll declare for the opposition. This whole thing stinks of a plot. The leadership has been infiltrated, its obvious. We have been betrayed.

I've found a series of listening posts that seem to be some kind of an epilogue to the Formidine Rift mystery in the Teorge system: http://imgur.com/a/S0ji9

Edit: Someone told me to post here that my commander name is Enshiv

This basically seems like a fair chunk of what could be revealed as a consequence of tonights event. lol. The 'goids are coming! (ties in with the flower ship video linked earlier today).

Still do as I say or die, and any excuse that targets and kills innocents to reach a goal means the goal is not worth supporting.

The argument that the ends justify the means has always been at best questionable. At worse, it makes you worse than your enemy.

Agreed.
As a defender your plan should always be: Only attack if someone else attacks you or your VIP first.
Being proactive with KOS and that makes you a terrorist.

Take part!

You will miss out on some really interesting gameplay if you don't. I can't be with you because my internet is sick, constant cutouts, 400kb/s, pings from 200ms -1.5s. It's actually playable in solo but any p2p connections are a wash out. Don't be like me and frustrated at missing the biggest player event the game will have ever seen.

There's going to be PVP. I'm rubbish at PVP and have never killed another CMDR. Just trying not to get killed is going to be exciting.

Just go try something. You are quite likely to die at some point so fly what you can afford and go an see what happens. You don't have to have any other reason or pick a side. You may want to pick a side depending on the interactions you have with other CMDRS during the event.

Personally I've role played how I would have approached things (if I could[sad]). My pilot has been sat many space bars (forums, discord etc.) and heard many a rumour. An independent pilot that doesn't like elites, but doesn't like cover ups over dead colonists either. I don't want Salomé riding back into the bubble, as the leader of a triumphant popular movement, in order to make a power grab. That's what it looks like she's doing and it would mean war. The private military contractors have volunteered to protect her because war is good for business. Salomé is dangerous. Death follows her. The other's I don't believe are as dangerous. I want them to make it so we can expose the conspiracy and find out why so many died out in the Formidine Rift and who is responsible.

So my plan was just to take my Cobra. Keep my ear on the grapevine. Fly towards the action. And make decisions based on what happens and what I want to do, like a true independent pilot.

But I can't do that. I'll have to read the forums and watch the youtube highlights later. So go off and have get involved and give me some interesting war stories to hear about in the space bars.

Any other time than the last few weeks, and you'd be seen as a saint. I'd be amazed if anyone noticed and your post didn't get buried in the pile...

Fret not, Ia few noticed, which means we'll be checking it out shortly...

And.. THANKS!

It does appear that Salome's big reveal has been ninja'd.

The question now; was this an accident by FD, or something else?

That has cheered me up alot after football today, because if that is the contingency plan Drew talked about and it got spoiled - some lone wolf commander has not only managed to discover an important part of the mystery - they did it entirely on accident.

This is quite funny I must say.

It is indeed. And I have to say some (CoR) theories were right on the money.

Listen posts confirmed in Teorge, I'm here in open downloading.

This whole mess sounds like a tri-power effort to destroy Salome and all the evidence.

We need the Dark Wheel here ASAP

My final word. I am not moaning about players who did something "when there was nothing stopping [me] from doing likewise". Your statement is incorrect in at least two ways. First, my complaint has been groups trying to enforce their rules and way of playing on others, and no role whatsover for independent pilots who don't want to wing up or be in any such group, undermining the entire original ethos of the game. Not just on this event but it has certainly highlighted that.

Second, lots of things stop me from setting up yet another players group and server, as you well know. The main one is Real Life(tm) and time. So claiming that anyone can go and do what you folks have done (on the spur of the moment yet where you and others have had months and years to organise) is rather laughable to be honest. All this event does is show that again there is little effort or thought put into content creation for casual players by FD, and particularly casual players that aren't into multiplayer and PvP and want to play/fly independently.

That's it from me. Hope you have fun.

Like I said, PAC have nothing to do with CoR. I don't disagree with your complaint though.

Regarding having months/years to prepare - not sure what you mean? CoR had a little over 4 weeks, PAC had 3 weeks.

And as been said elsewhere, there is no blueprint for this. Its the first event of its kind and of this scale too. To some extent, everyone involved has had to wing it. It was never going to be perfect or please everyone.

Unless this higher power is the Dark Wheel and it has infiltrated every other major organisation. Perhaps the token Salome left was saying just that: It's the Dark Wheel that are behind it all.

RAGAZZA !! so it's true.

As I've long expected the old stories are true, this proves it. The entirety of human population was hex edited around 3280. What we believe to be the history of human endeavor over the past 30 years is not the true history, there are secrets here and there that confirm it.
