This pretty much nailed the coffin for me on not buying the book. Yesterday i would have smashed that buy button without any hesitation as it would have gone live.

After learning who it went down, ALL of this just doesn't make any sense. After all we have learned about her in the last months, I refuse to believe, Salomé is this stupid. I refuse to believe, Salomé would be that careless about her ship, especially with friends like Hassan, Luko and her experience with Octavia and other "bad guys". I refuse to believe, Salomé would be that stupid and hot jump her FSD to 70%, risk malfunctions and certain death. I refuse to believe, that Salomé would not fit her Ship with everything she could, to withstand at least some punishment. I especially refuse to believe she would just "give up" (as a lot of people suggested she did).

Swallowing that "Commander Harry Potter" is who killed her, was hard enough. I would also have probably wanted to read the story, how she got to be that stupid. But splitting up the information and dying in vain? Really? No - thank you.

I think they made it clear they are not expecting people to buy the book - this is not an issue. However, you don't actually know why Salomé did that or even whether she had a choice, nor the reasons why she was trying to do whatever she was trying to do, nor why the messages were split up, if indeed they were. For example, escaped prisoners who don't exist (are dead, twice), might have some trouble acquiring the best equipment for their ships

I actually put myself through watching the video of HP's stream just now, and...to my mind the whole thing stinks. At no point does Salome try and get away during her last fight, indeed she turns to face him head on three or four times, with hardpoints deployed trying to go on the offensive.

WE don't know why yet - information missing. However, this did put me in mid of the moment in the first Star Wars film where Obi Wan is fighting Darth Vader and as Luke runs across to the Millenium Falcon, he gives a sideways look across - in that moment he made a decision - the moment where Salomé was in kind of reminded me of that, especially with the talk of her choosing to slow down as well.

So here is a question: is there anything left in the Rift to search for?

I mean, we've found the Zurara, we know about the Dynasty Expedition, we've located the beacons and base camps and now we know what they were for, have we pretty much solved the Rift mystery in so far as what is out there to find? Sure there are still political questions and such to learn but that's all bubble stuff really. Does this officially wrap up the search out in the physical Formidine Rift itself?

Probably already answered but as I'm catching up after sleeping and don't want to forget, the PAC defenders for Raan had that in their shipnames.

They all left me alone when I saw them though so while expecting a rebuy I was never shot at so lucky here.

Ta, that's useful info. I was unarmed, so so much for the come unarmed stuff! Also RC had already done his bit and survived when it happened. So sounds like PAC showing what I already suspected their true colours to be, rather than SDC doing their thang.

Edit - better just clarify that I was unarmed as I was already flying an unarmed ship, not because of the come unarmed stuff. Didn't believe that rubbish for a second.

I thought that was just me. I saw it last night, but in Tionisla. I've never been to Teorge. It was like extreme heat distortion / ripples

Edit : I was recording for a while, but not sure if I caught the effect though.

It's already been said that Salome had issues with module malfunctions from hot jump damage. More likely than some grand conspiracy is that she needed to shutdown and repair but couldn't while being shot. I know I had some jumps there where I was overheating from the sun before I even managed to load in because of server load.

So much to read today, so much not related to why I read this thread. Only commented because I don't think Drew deserves this kind of flak.

Guys, stop assuming Drew is some god of all things written. He is just one man who acts very cryptic to try and keep people guessing, as it's all meant to be fun and games

The event was a farce. Stop talking about it, CoR, PAC, SDC, HP, All of that garbage and do what you do best; Go deep into space and find cool stuff that might point at aliens, might point at superpowers being played, might go nowhere but hey exploring is fun.

Drew said that Salomé's message did not get out, But that's only Salomé's -- And judging by the messages in Teorge, where all the characters were headed and which 75% of them made it, Salomé couldn't possibly have anything useful for us that we didn't already know. Salomé wasn't even fully involved in the Rift story and quite frankly has nothing to do with it. She was a distraction, who claimed to know some deep dark secret. All false pretence.

I'm annoyed by this... We were told with no ambiguity that only one needed to survive. So then, why the change in plan? Of the 3 that made it, not one of them told us anything...

On the mystery- No new knowledge was really gained from Teorge. That doesn't convince me that a clue wasn't hidden in those 7 listening post logs. It refers to the old lore, someone hinted at why but didn't explain. Can anyone fill me in? What is the significance of Teorge?

One of the Dynasty logs mentions "Reorte.. Did I say reorte? I meant Reidquat" . Drew made the same mistake in his tweet, using Reorte instead of Teorge. Maybe nothing, but maybe not. There seems to be some importance to this area of the bubble though, Teorge/Lave. Perhaps it has to do with the role of some faction in that area, or the history of a certain place there? I think there's plenty to look at still.
