THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

All these clones floating around, and Kahina in a fairly prominent Imperial family and all, makes one wonder where else Dark Wheel/INRA/Alien-controlled clones might be hanging out, eh? <cough> Duval family <cough>

Why does everyone point the finger at the Dark Wheel? They're just a group of elite explorers set on finding Raxxla and solving mysteries... I think I may have found their lair!

"… a semi-legendary space unit, star-riders who made it their business to seek the truth behind the plethora of myths and romantic stories that filtered back from all corners of the Universe: fabulous cities, parallel worlds, time travellers, even planets that appeared to be the old ‘heaven’ of Earth legend. The Dark Wheel was as mysterious and as mythical to the traders of the Galaxy as King Arthur might have been to the first spacemen.”

Should join The Order, we are the new Dark Wheel ;).

3275 also just happens to be the year that Moira Dolan and Gustaav Mastersson upset Carl Linnaeus' (suspiciously Hans Walden like biochemist) plot to use modified humans to become elite pilots to train Oresrians (Thargoids we've met) so they can defeat the Klaxians (Thargoids we haven't) and thus save humanity from the coming invasion. The Oreserians were being pushed toward human space by the Klaxians. Last seen escaping towards the Pleiades. He was enamored with the ability of the Oserians to build on shared knowledge rather than the individualized knowledge inherent in humans.
From "Out of The Darkness" by T.James

A mere 5 years after Hans Walden-2 had his plans upset to cull the weak from human population via a virus to better position them to meet the coming threat (Hans 1 never located) who was fairly adept at cloning technology. He'd set about cloning himself to build a shared knowledge through his clones rather than an individualized knowledge. From "Lave Revolution" by Allen Stroud

And would probably have viewed the re-introduction of Genship populations into the mix as a terrible set back for humans. Conveniently they all appear to have relatively recently died from a virus. My own bit of tinfoil.

A bit before Robert Gunn great-grandson of Alex Ryder set about disrupting the plans to use Soontil weapons to kill the Emperor and trigger a war between the federation and Empire leaving the strongest standing to face the 2nd Thargoid invasion due to pressures within. Think Visigoths being pushed south toward Rome. From "And Here the Wheel" by John Harper

this is good stuff

According to FFE lore, all Duvals were sort of clones, as female assisted reproduction was banned in the royal family.

Probably retconed though.

Still don't think there is a drop of Duval blood in Arissa. :)

Elite back then, meant combat. There was no such thing as Explorer Elite.

That's fan fiction and not a part of the official lore. CoR can make as many claims about who and what the Dark Wheel are as they'd like. What's here -->https://www.drewwagar.com/lore/elite-dangerous-lore-the-dark-wheel/ is all I'm basing my opinion on.

I don't really pay attention to most player groups. What's The Order's story?

"The Dark Wheel was known to be recruiting pilots of exceptional ability and who also had a desire for exploration."

Close enough for me :D

Salomé's message was not delivered due to the outcome of the event. Players changed the story once again.

Cheers,

Drew.

This is a excuse, your event rules are: IF ANY OF THE PILOTS SURVIVE will spread the mensage NOT ONLY if salomé survive.

Because of THIS rule players stand in defense of anothers charcters, if you say that since the start NOBODY will protect another characters...

I'ts a dirty play, you know that!

Think you are missing the point and being unfair.

Any character making it would mean the logs got revealed. The fact a single commander found them first is just one of those things as placed for the event.

If the main lead had got there, we would have had a little more.

The fact the main character got the majority of the flak and was subject to a player betrayal is not Drews choice. If you have a problem with that, want to rage and blame somebody, I suggest you go talk to those who made the choice to target her as it's their choice which limited the reveal.

Wait. I need some quote here, correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it clear / said that we would get the message no matter which one of the characters would survive, as long as one survived?
or did we miss some extremely small writing there?

We were told we would get a message if just one survived and that was the logs in teorge. We were never told we could get everything if just one other than Salomè got through.

Then I guess a certain player is really, really KoS to nearly everyone involved now ...

Won't find me trying to change the mind of anybody who wants to take that line. Then again I wouldn't have tried to change their minds 2 days ago either.

This just makes it harder for us to find the next needle, but who knows what else may turn up

I'm not going to lie to you all, I do feel particularly bitter about the whole debacle, and that may come through my post.

However I am forming the opinion that she was set up to die so Drew could get another book or two out of the rift mystery story line. In essence if Salomé had survived last nights instancing, trechery and betrayal, Drew was duty bount to spill the beans on who was behind the rift expedition and why they did it,, a very dramatic climactical ending for a book. Now that shes dead, having died in the last couple of chapters as part of a sudden but inevitable betrayal (such a bad cliche as an author's literary mechanism); the other accomplices / survivors, who are seemingly clueless as to what Salomé knew will have to retrace her steps of inquiry and thats going to take longer than the remainder of premonition. BOOM - We just guessed the plot of the next couple of books, Raan Corsen and Tsu Annabelle Sing retracing the clues and riddles of the formadine rift mystery. If it took Salomé a couple of books to get to the end of the riddle, and she was a woman of exceptional character, that other pair of fugitives will take at least that long so there is volume three and possibly 4 of the saga. Pad that out with some alien stuff actually happening and wow, theres book 5.

So who killed Salomé? Either FD or Drew, not Harry Potter. FD were guilty of terrible network code stopping her wingmen getting to her in time, Drew built her up for a fall and put a target on her head, and Harry Potter? Well he's just a dumb oaf who shoots stuff and did exactly what was expected by all concerned.

You seem to have missed drews post were he explains this message, he meant that the info wasnt released from the event because a cmdr found it before the event by chance. The only thing we missed is Salomes speech, thats it. All the info we got anyway.
