Legs are boring. We can add them but it will be boring.

Legs aren't important, it's having something to look at while walking around that's important.

I have VR legs, but as far as game legs go I don't really want them unless there's something to do with them, and, I don't want them to spend time creating a whole FPS game to slot in. That time would be better spent elsewhere, even in preparation for legs such as interiors and planet surfaces. If they added legs as it is now, it WOULD be boring.

Really now..Ok show me some evidence on that, where FD said "Adding legs will be boring" i'd love to hear that.

When answering questions from players on the reddit. They said that they do not know how to make legs interesting. In the games that I've brought interesting legs.

Sorry, but I will not look for a link for you.

Making legs interesting is one thing, making them interesting and believable in the context of the Elite universe is another thing. The game wasn't built with legs, legs will have to be built into what Elite already is. If you can't or won't link where a developer said that, then I am not compelled to believe you.

And this is why Sandro said during last QA that space legs are far way off- probably due to the fact that with walking around there should be some interesting gameplay to go with it and that takes time to develop. And its ok, Elite focus should be on fixing plethora of things that we have now. Space legs will be a great addition later when they polish the stuff and think of good gameplay for EVA and such.

I agree that now the game has more important problems. I just wanted to share an interesting realization of the legs.

Speaking for legs in "that other game"... I find nothing at all boring about it.

In fact I find it rather cool to be able to get up out of your commander's chair and explore the ship (say the Star Farer). Or leave your pilots seat and check out the views from the "tractor beam bay" on the Caterpillar.

Legs can add a whole level of awesome to a space sim, especially for the larger, multi-crew ships.

And that's absolutely true - I have many issues with SC but they did justice to EVA and walking around - for me even with out deep gameplay it adds immersion (much immersioun!) to the expiriance and I cant wait for FD space legs in the future!
Also hurray for positive post from grumpy Vasea! \o/

Unfortunately, when you pat yourself on the back for it, you undermine yourself, as I have learned in the past. [knocked out]
