A Goldmine of triangular symbols to choose from^^^ So Hippie man...Pass the Onionhead duuuudee

As it stands AI fighters don't really matter too much. But Crewed fighters have the same symbol as normal player ships and I really think that needs to change in order to give all players a better tactical sense of the situation at an instantaneous glance. You don't have time to waste when 3 hostile players show on screen to be checking what they are flying while deciding to fight or flee. Why force people to look at the top and bottom of a contacts menu or cycle through their threats when you can make a simple change and give us this info at a glance? If a special symbol lights up and hits you can know in that half second whether it is a ship or fighter firing at you. That is precious time to be faffing in a menu rather than processing information with your good old radar.
It is such a small change and could do so much good for so little effort. Just draw a line through the middle and call it a day and Ill be happy.
 
Agreed, but I wouldn't stop at SLFs. There's no good reason (aside from learning curve) for a Viper to be indistinguishable from a Corvette on the sensor display.

While we're dreaming about sensor improvements, I'd also like to be able to filter contacts. I don't care about the positions of material drops during combat.

Not a bad idea; here's a simple solution: turn the triangle upside-down for deployed fighters.

I was about to start a thread about this since it was bothering me. Then I remembered I already did! If you Devs listen to one Idea I ever have ever. Please let it be this one.
