About those Unknown Ships...

Honestly, I kinda want one. They look great, and would be a blast to explore/smuggle in. Besides, the Alliance Sci. Division can't have ALL the fun!:D

So, I'd say we need a way to get these sweet sweet UFOs. The in-game model, flight physics (from what I can see), and Non-Standard equipment are there. It couldn't be all that much to consider at least.

What say you?

A human could never pilot a flower vessel.

Thargoids are too biologically different from us to make this simples.

Long-term though, like decade from now, who knows.

We had one in the older Elites. Also, I'm sure Frontier are taking a really odd approach to 'silicon based life'. Otherwise water pistols would be enough to kill Thargoids.

The Alliance test piloted one already. Oh, and Palin found ways to protect us from UA 'issues' why not use the same concept?

Either way, It's mostly bio engineered electronics bolstered by a high resistance to disease (due to the Alliance) plated in Meta Alloys. You'd need to idiot proof the interior, replace the life support, re work the interface (add a alien inspired CMDR chair or two), translate the onboard everything (Ram Tah), and re-set/ replace the neural-linkages.

Instead of an actual Alien ship, I'd like to see an independent ship manufacture put out some hybrid ship that has 'apparently' used alien tech to base some of their own work on. I'd rather it enter the game like that, interesting ideas like a minor ship manufacturer suddenly becoming the hottest thing in the galaxy with a new ship. Super powers somehow left out of the loop, misinformation, etc. Maybe some random malfunctions with the alien based tech or, something like it puts out a frequency that 'may' attract alien attention to those who pilot one, or cause weird green anomalies in witch-space. So many good things can be done at this point in the timeline, before we're out and out fighting/interacting with the Thargoids :)

I still think it would need to behave (flight wise) exactly like the ship we see 'hyperdicting'.

Witchmyst Concept? Created by OMC Shipyards?

This plus a modified Thargoid Star Anise as a new ship class (Alien/Experimental) would fit in well.

I put a bit more thought into how these ideas could be accomplished. If the players write the internal lore via their actions, I wonder if a series of CGs is in order?

Until the Thargoids attack (or whatever) we won't be able to push for the Star Anise. However, a CG asking for Unidentified Wake/Ship scans + Meta Alloys + Unknown Ship fragments (built for CG) from the crash sites, we might be (in theroy) able to reproduce working models of the alien vessel.
