Honestly, at this point I'd combat log just to make sure I get to read another one of these threads. The real winner is the guy who logged on OP and has thread of nerd ragers raging (again) in his honor.

If I were a noob about to get popped, I'd log. I'd log so hard I'd fall straight out of the matrix into a tub of pink goo.

LOL, not that I condone it but that is funny. :)

One sure way to stop loggers is if they purposely disconnect before death there ship should be still visible in the game for at least 20 seconds after they log.

This gives the attacker the kill plus teaches a hard leasson to the logger not to log off :)

Oh, are we doing this thread for the Nth time? A lot of combat-logging effigy burning and chest beating to accompany a whole lot of absolutely nothing?

Here let's fast-forward to the end: Crime and Punishment does nothing to protect players from the incessant attacks of other players, blah blah, somebody says "Play in Solo", completely oblivious to the irony of that is exactly what combat loggers do when they log. There are a few odd comments about "grr yeah combat loggers I hate them, because I'm so tough and scary it's a problem for me you see because I'm tough hey where do I pick up my cool medal for being so tough?" Insert people saying how easy it would be to fix combat logging. Then we all learn the valuable lesson that some people just want to be able to shoot and kill other people without any interference or consequence and the thread either dies or gets locked and it happens again next week with mostly the same cast but a few new guest stars, it's like Saturday Night Live except slightly more funny.

Amazing

Just WOW

Like a non-maneouvering shieldless trader would survive 20 secs???

But even so, logging might be preferable to them in order that they are both not around when it happens and also so they they are not "compliant"?

Piracy = painfully slow profit = no bueno for me

Though- I just reached the point in the game where I have literally nothing left to do, so who knows- maybe I'll just start griefing and make my own combat logging threads.

What sort of lunatic takes an unsheilded trader to a CG? :S

They have on me ;.;

Oddly enough I had an NPC disappear from my sensors the other day while being shot. I thought at first that it was actually a commander, then remembered it couldn't have been cause I was in a PG. Then I realized: the brat used silent running and I lost his signature. That's the only thing I can come up with to account for it. When I relocated him shields were off line.

I've had them literally & unceremoniously just vanish before my eyes in the middle of a firefight, when they were inches from death.. Then spinning back up to supercruise, there they are, off on their merry way with a miraculous recovery to full shields & hull.. This has happened at least twice. Expletives occurred.

Gitgud.

Combat logging is cheating and Frontier supports the cheating by their silence and inaction to address the issue.

Combat logging...or the persistent whining about cheating is a sure sign of not having a life outside of playing computer games... I hate to tell you this, but it doesn't really matter that much [squeeeee]
