When the tourist beacons where added to the game they had variations adding an element of fun , diversity , unpredictability and of course gameplay.
Removing them made the areas into a sort of magic box , safe from the dangers of the world.
My main issue with USSs has been from day 1 how segmented they feel (you see convoys in them , but never in supercruise)
This just make the issue bigger.
On top of that , I do think that the biggest issue in Elite dangerous is how predictable it can be.
If you go in a USS you know 70% of the time what you are getting into.
If you take a mission you know 99% of the time what going to happen
You go to a NavBeacon or a RES you know 100% what types of ships will spawn.
Hell you dock at an outpost and the ships will spawn in the same location at the same time as the player jumps in.
Same with astroid belts (when you just jump in , a small wing will follow... every single time)
I can not think of a single reason why the wrecks , pirate attacks or anything else should be removed.
Here is another example :
Planet POIs.
They have skimmers 99.9% of the time.
Would it not be more intresting if it was random? have be based on the BGS. (or just RNG)
So that every encounter is as unique as it can be.
Back to the nav beacons. it would be cool if ships sometimes did not spawn. just leaving you in.
Sometimes there are a few before you spawn , other times nothing. and yet other times they arrive a few mins after you.
Currently it feels a bit like a theme park. and its one of the few things I can say I hate about the game.
I remeber reading that USSs are WIP/Placeholders... but is that even the case?
