One-time gamesave copy PC to PS4?

I think you should look at your free Sidey like you do your first car. If you don't write it off, you've been doing something wrong.
I tried that with my mom...didn't work out so good!
Until I've been run off the road at least a few dozen times, I'll be sticking with my Sidewinder.

I have just turned up late to the race and am under the illusion that the Elite universe has stood still for the last few years waiting for me to arrive. As you know, everyone else's progress has just been the beta trial for my arrival. If you could reset the discoveries, progress and capital that people have made in the beta trials, so that I could say I am on the same level for about 5 minutes, that would be great.
Of course I couldn't have brought it on the PC I am typing this message on.... just because..... so I do hope you won't give people who have supported you on PC and paid for it on both formats the sort of support they might expect, as my 5 minutes is very important to me.

I'm so sorry but why should people who have played on pc/xb1 for the last 3 years be allowed to transfer everything over to ps4, the last thing we need day one is a bunch of harry pothead type commanders rolling up in the spiffy noob bashers and start splattering half the ps4 community before they even leave the first station.
seriously if you want to play on ps4 you start off like everyone else, there should be no advantage for former pc/xb1 players (especially the HPers of the galaxy.)

No one will die at the first station, as even if in open, beginner pilots are not instanced with anyone at the very start of the game until they make their first h-jump.
so, as long as they all scatter in different directions and never go back there, the gankers looking to noob kill at the station door will just have each other for company...

still don't find it fair, pc couldn't transfer to xb1 so why should pc/xb1 be allowed to transfer to ps4. and anyway i doubt it will ever happen, so i will leave it at that.
edit: and as we all know from salome event sdc and other gankers will be there waiting to get as many noobs as possible on launch day, i will bet my pacemaker on it

I have already stated i think its a bad idea...but... If i were in Sony's shoes - anything that pulls a gamer off a PC and puts them in a Playsatan is good news! But i would definitely want it to be a one way port only - you dont get to go back. That said - and as someone (Stormy maybe) earlier pointed out - Microsoft already have extensive experience with PC and Xbox - so why wouldn't they do it if it was so easy...?

it was probably alot easier for FDev to do pc to xb1, mainly because Microsoft own windows and xb1 so there will be some similarities. but ps4 from what i can tell uses a different software setup, hence no cross play between xb1/pc/ps4.
but that is just my own personal theory, which 9 times out of 10 is completely wrong

The point is they don't do it from PC to XB1 or vice versa. You can get assets transferred (as pure cash) but no save game transfers.
ah i see, might as well pray i get enough time to get out of the bubble in to uncharted space and find something unique before the likes of SDC come and spoil the galaxy

having a think about it, save transfer or even asset transfer is the worse idea ever thought about. only because it wouldn't take someone long to try it both ways and keep going between the pc/xb1/ps4 basically amassing a small fortune from being an absolute douchbag, while the silent majority of law abiding pilots wonder is happening. it wouldn't take long for the dimwit few to hold a pvp style monopoly on all 3 computers and make life more dangerous than it should be, but that is my humble and only theoretical opinion
I kind of, sort of, in part agree. But then again, the name of the game is Elite DANGEROUS.
