VIP Escort Missions, new content and missions for the game.

When I see Beluga, Orca's and Dolphins flying around it makes me wonder, where are there escorts?

The different Elite books I have gone though when there is a passenger luxury ships flying around they always have an protection escorts. Most of the time just a couple fighters like eagles but not all by themselves.

I think that could make some fun game play like the Salome community event.

The mission could flow as the following:

  • Get a mission to Escorts a Orca from System ABC to System XYZ.
  • As you are following them they could get interdicted and then you have to defend them from multiple waves of Attackers, like a Distress Call that you follow.
  • Or as they are traveling around the systems... they have some kind of "System Failure" with their ship that drops them out of Super Cruise.
  • While they are working on repairs for the module that is having issues then you have to defend them from multiple waves of Attackers for certain amount of time before they can spin up their FSD to escape.
  • Just like the passengers missions you could get bonus if they have no hull damage when they arrive in the target system / base.

I am sure there are many other variations that can be done with VIP Escort missions, but this would be a good place to start [up]

You talking about real MMO content now, who wants that! I rather have people join me in my ship and shot security and bail on me so I have my ship attacked and blown to bits, or I rather pick on people and when they come to take revenge I join another ship and disappear from their sights. Now that's MMO content!

What would also be cool is if you could get these Escort Missions from Distress Call & Convoy USS's....just to shake things up even more.

Quick OT question as I haven't tried them in a while:
Does the Distress Call USS still send several waves of increasingly bigger and badder Wanted NPCs or is it now only those there when you drop into the instance?
