Generation Ship Thetis found

That's just the 'kill them all' message not being transmitted correctly... its broken up and only a few of the characters have made it through the transmission.

Oh well you are right about that..
Anyone else have any good ideas on how to find the source then?
Maby its not even implemented yet?

Of course it isn't implemented. What could it possibly be, given the assets that currently exist in the game? A listening post?

I threw the audio into Audition and sped it up by 4x while keeping pitches the same. Doing that kind of makes it sounds like someone is whispering "Kill.. Them.. All.." repeatedly. No idea what the other sounds in the signal mean. But I bet they'd point to some useful clue.

Yup. No luck so far. Also no luck decrypting anything from the last repeating audio either. It really seemed to me that there was some morse code in there.
Well.... im pretty sure it is only:
Comms Log 900.0.04

........I have to find them. I have to silence them. I have to.....

Comms Log 000.0.00

....kill......them........all....
....k..l.......h.m..........l....

Because in Comm Log 3/5 it even tells:
It's the same message replayed again and again and again - it's more a whisper than anything else; it says, 'kill them all' ...

Yeah thats right. But I rather tried to decrypt anything else that might be hidden inside the "audio" behind the creepy whispering. I've recorded the last log for a minute or so and perfectly cut repeating part out (which is quiet easy to do when you check out the visual representation of it as you can clearly see a briefly empty line at its end there) and then tried to see if theres any morse or similar other encoded something in it or theres something to put together in the spectrograph etc. but didnt end up with much..

This is the most mysterious thing and Id really like to see the bottom of it. (And hopefuly FD included a bottom to it)

Thanks!
So lets say they recieved the message in a system about 15LY away from Nefertem. As AstroExplorer67 stated, there is only one system which is so close and relatively aligned to Sol. LFT 698.
So Astro had the idea to check the third planet, first moon because of the binary code. I just got to the system but instead, I checked if planets lie between Sol and Nefertem because they literally said the passed the planet, 15LY ago - and indeed there is Planet 4 with its 6 moons. I like the binary theory so I will check out the third moon, now.

What is the deal with all these generation ships? They *all* lost their entire population?

I mean, really.... :/

:)

No - most of them arrived and settled on a distant world. Much as the settlement from Europe by the numerous vessels that followed Columbus to settle the US, and later the wagon trains across the US. They took big risks, but most arrived successfully. Nevertheless we are still finding the odd shipwreck from that period that didn't make it.

If they only lost some of their population, the rest would work for their lives to repair/recover if possible and so get to their destination. It is those where they all died (for whatever reason) that we can still find.
