Can i buy this for a friend as a gift?

As the title suggests

if so, how do I go about doing this, don't you have to set up an email etc?


looking for a buddy to play with and contemplating buying the beta for him.

I did something similar. Since the payment options atm are Barclay's and PayPal, you can use latter to buy it for your friend. You have to trust him enough though to give him your PayPal credentials at least for one purchase. He registers on the zaonce store, drops the beta into the cart, chooses PayPal as payment option, then enters your e-mail and paypal password on the paypal checkout site, and pays with your balance. Worked for me when I was getting this for a friend.

sound like a good option, altho im not too comfortable with giving out my paypal creds.... :p

not that I don't trust him, (his machine may be compromised, I keep teling him to reformat (its been about 5yrs), but he cant find his win 7 disk or they key :X )

Hehe, can understand that. It's easier for me, as my paypal is bound to an online online credit card, that has a blank balance behind it, ergo it only has money on it, if I transfer from my main account. Not much to lose if they can't steal a dime ;)

Sadly afaik there's no other option, this one I only tried after talking with customer support and confirming that it should be possible.

Why not just buy it using his e-mail address as the login. Create a password. Then tell him to log in with his email and the new password.

Hmmm, I could do this, but wouldn't confirmation goto his email address?, I forgot if the password gets emailed, and if it is hacked then surely they would see this and just steal the account straight away.


unless I tell him to change ALL his passwords including email....
