Is it out for ps4 already??

At last! , it falls outside my preferred window but there you go...beggars can't be choosers and all that! At least i can take a few days off in advance...:D

Great news

Will the legendary disc version work without the disc inserted after installation ??? Does anyone know ?

That's not been my experience with PS4 games. Sony actually came out of gates as pro-resale, but for that to work it means the ability to play a game (physical media) has to be tied to the disk, not the device. However, once it verifies you own the game, all the game data will load from your much faster hard drive.

I asked because of remote play.

If I am on holiday, I would like to play via remote play.
A disc exchange for another game, well, would be somehow difficult.

"Calling my mother-in-law, begging to go home, explaining what a PS 4 is, and how it looks, explaining how to put a Gamedisk in Playstation without breaking the disc. . "

But....

Who the f u c k will play something else on holiday....

This is interesting, is this remote play to a PC or Vita? I have tried the Vita, and seems to work on the same wireless network but I have never managed to get it working over the internet? (Sorry for hijack).

Yeah, works fine over the internet m8 although you need at least an 8meg connection ideally both ends :)

Edit-

Both pc, vita and certain Sony phones work both local and over the internet :)

I have the remote play app for my Macbook; it works! It's the only way I can play decent games on this computer, LOL. I've only used it in my own LAN, but it's cool to have that ability. That said, I usually just play directly off of PS4 to get the best graphics.

How does one get their remote to work, so far away from the screen? Mine won't work more than 10 to 12 feet away.

My PS4 connects to my router via Ethernet, which I highly recommend for online gaming. If your wireless access point is decent, you should be able to connect to the PS4 through your wifi router anywhere in your house, or even outside, assuming you're in wifi range.

When you say "mine", are you talking PC or Vita? If PC, you can get the best remote experience possible by going wired for the entire circuit (PC to PS4 via router). As for Vita, I don't know if that does remote through your wifi router or if it connects directly to PS4 via wifi or even Bluetooth (which would explain the 10ft limit).

ps - is the acronym for "wireless access point" slang for something bad? Forum kept deleting it on me!

It can connect either direct to PS4 using an adhoc wifi chanel it creates or by using your router.

I can't remember exactly off the top of my head but I think it uses channel 6 or 4 so if your main router or neighbour uses the same channel it causes interference.

Agreed about the Ethernet from PS4 to router as that deffo helps when using streaming on pc or over the internet :) I use powerline adapters and let the family fight over the wifi lol ;)

Huhhhh, what, I only use the remote to turn my device on, off, adjust the volumn and change the channel. Wasn't aware it does more.

You're talking about a remote control? Here we (I at least) thought you were talking about remote play, ie - the ability to play PS4 games remotely on a PC / Mac or Vita.

I'd forgotten about this. My Vita has the PS4 remote play app on it, though I think I only used it the first time I got it . . . Still, it'd be fun trying to fly a sidey with just the controls on the Vita (and by 'fun' I mean "won't use anything I can't afford the re-buy on") :)
