Will there be a beta test on the ps4 platform before the Q2 release? If so how and when can i sign up?!

Unfortunately there isn't a beta on consoles.
The time and effort of doing a beta on consoles doesn't weight up to the benefit of having one. (or something in this line.. lol )
On Xbox they did had a Preview period before the game actually launched. Not sure if PS4 has this program though..

Unfortunately Sony shot down a similar system as the xbox gpp last year I've no doubt we'd all be playing elite now if they hadn't refused a similar system
It's a shame there isn't a regular beta running for consoles as there are plenty of experienced pc/xbox players out there with a ps4 and vita who could provide useful feedback

The xbox game preview program isn't really a regular beta m8. You pay almost full price for the game with no guarantee that it will ever release as a full game but if it does you automatically get the full game for no extra charge

I could have sworn there was a XBOX One beta but... Maybe not... Really wasn't paying attention around that time.
Oh well maybe it could still happen as a technical test. Last weekend I played PS4 card game Gwent which had a 2 day Beta technical test on PS4. Which I enjoyed. I note that Gwent also has ongoing PC and Xbox beta but not on PS4, it was just a very time limited "test".

shame was hoping we could get a couple of tutorial missions to help get acclimatized to controls, but hey cie la vie
It will be much more fun watching the 30 ship pileup at the nearest station. I might sit outside and record it for posterity. Practice would rob us of this wonderful event. It might be more exciting than the Salome incident!
The Xbox One version had a time-limited demo when it first came out in "Preview" (Early Access) - not sure if it still does.
One thing the Xbox One version definitely still has, and which must surely also be present in the PS4 version, is a selection of tutorial missions covering flying, navigation, combat, etc.
It would be mighty, mighty cool if we could play the tutorials before launch day. June 27th is mighty far away, and I have to think the tutorials are fairly bug-free by now. So FDev (I know you're out there), what do you think? I'll trade my gold sidewinder for this!
