The Anti "Griefer" Tactics Thread (Updated Daily!)

Firstly, every single post on here is a generalisation because 100% of nobody agrees with the same thing.
Wrong. My post wasn't for instance. I directed it at you, instead of extrapolating it to a large group of people.

Secondly, read the forums yourself and tell me, do you see more hate toward the griefers/pvp, or from the PVP crowd about PVEers? The PVPers tend to keep it in game, the judgement comes out here. SDC might be the big bad wolves of Elite (and no, i don't know any of them, not affiliated with them and certainly not part of them) but i barely never see them on here judging how PVEers play their game, and when i do see them post its usually defending their own actions in a stereotypical griefers thread.
I see the same behaviour coming from both groups. There is no high moral ground here. And if you barely see PvPers judging how PvEers play the game, I'd have to say that's selective observation talking again.

Just in that one paragraph you made 2 more stereotypes.
Thirdly, no victim unit, if you check my history I'm generally unbiased toward all play styles and have even given tips in threads about how NOT to be a victim.
That's great.

Thats because your post was personal, it was aimed at me, not the game, for all intensive purpose you could have written this anywhere because the game isn't a factor.

It is observation, not selective, but observation; I'm fully aware that both groups get at each other, I'm also fully aware which crops up the most. Its not like "Griefer" threads are common place now, is it?

It is great, isn't it!

That doesn't surprise me.

It dosent surprise me that you cut off the rest of the quote to suit the fact that your post made no sense either. Why don't we just ignore each other until we go away :).

I quoted the bit I was responding to, the rest was just noise... and there's plenty of players waiting for griefers to go away already.

Cheer's but I'm not. You can check my history as well.

I'll probably come across as "confused" at best, but feel free :)

Part of me wants to go all Counsellor on you and ask "What does the word Griefer mean to you...?" But most of me can't be bothered wasting my time :).

Confused is a good look on you though, you really make it work :D.

Indeed, and you were talking about forum behaviour, which is out of game. And to be crystal, it was directed at your comment, not you. I know very little about you.

And it's not as if PvPers don't comment in these threads. And we can both recite the colourful names being thrown at PvEers.

It is great, isn't it!
By the way, that wasn't sarcasm.

I still have a ways to go rep wise before I can unlock the subforum that allows you to build overpowered arguments and develop thicker skin against ad hominem attacks.

Near the bottom of that page i actually talk about the real reason that i think the issue between PVP and PVE'ers exists. You may or may not be interested, thats my well thought out post for the day :).

Yes, for those with very deep pockets, sure.

Well, plenty of rebuys in addition to not soliciting PVP in a very expensive ship. If you accidently get killed, don't just keep feeding ships to your nemesis.

Maybe another anti-griefer tactic is 'don't sell one ship in order to be able to purchase the next more expensive ship and QQ later when you're left with a 'Winder.'

I am aware that there is a big jump in the rebuy cost between a medium ship and a big ship. I'm looking at 3 mil for D rated Python now. I hear about 30 mil rebuy for an anaconda. Does earning ability scale up with the scaling up of the rebuy? I don't know.

Stick at it...remember, a master has failed more times than a novice has even tried. Yer sure to get there one day, have a little faith in yerself ^

OP: I support your ideas whole heartedly. But I'm surprised this thread hasn't been closed already (maybe the Mods are having a day off) 'cos I got a forum infraction - in fact I got 2 - for advocating Griefer Logging, which is exactly what your 3rd option is.

The only problem with GL is how do you tell the difference between a Griefer and a pirate. I have no problem at all with piracy - stop a ship, demand cargo, take cargo (maybe after taking down their shields) and leave them alive if in a less than 100% serviceable ship - its a fun part of the Open game. Griefers on the other hand should lose their Pilots Federation Insurance cover (including replacement of their RNGineered modules) and have a 120s CL time-out, rather than 15s.
