coming home

wonder what the pay out will be.

Good question cmdr.
I have said many times I scan A Lot..
But.. looking back I see a great many of systems we have scanned where there was just a solitary star.
But again I Scan A-LOT.
(pre 2.3 I think I could net 650 - 750 million credits --but seeing as I'll be out after 2.3 lands I'm thinking {hoping} I can net 1 billion)
We'll see.

When I completed my 11 month journey I got back and couldn't remember how to land or do simple things or even how to request a landing. Took me a bit to remember how to do all that again, but once I did it was great seeing all those "Firsts" for black hole and neutron star discoveries being made...

For shiets and grins I did the tutorial docking mission a week ago.
It was somewhat successful. I still know the mechanics of it. I got by. But,
That 1st landing will be pulse rending for sure.
But I'm more worried about spreading my data around and not getting killed that way.
Good news is I have a very fast cobra with good shields and thrusters.
The Halasz Cobra will keep me safe.

My biggest thing was having to remember to request docking privileges. I had forgotten about that and also forgot where to request it from. Had to leave the station and grab my old notes to refresh myself with that...

I forgot how long to it takes to stop an Asp out of supercruise, hit the Sag A tourist beacon at about 200m/s with no shield, causing me to lose my 50 million passenger mission, and, to be honest, at the moment, to lose interest in the whole game. I'm now sat in Colonia but it increasingly seems like I can't be bothered logging on to travel 21KlY back to the bubble. Shame, but I got a winter's entertainment out of ED so I'm not complaining as it was more than worth the money.

So take care out there!

CMDR Tootiny:
Transmission sending as follows:
Week 74 update. All is well. For the most part. On schedule. I will be landing in 28 earth days. Ship integrity nominal. Hull @ 79% PP 85%
Systems visited 614 (20,000 total) / break.
5 ELW's to report. (134 total) encrypted data sent.
I'm having difficulties transmitting through a large Nebula I was in. Hence this report is a day late.
I'm looking forward to your report regarding ship upgrades.
Currently I am < 5k LY's from home base.
I have several more points of interest to explore in the remaining 4 weeks.
I am unable to provide pictures as I am having further difficulties with the new camera update.
I should have it sorted when the next report comes in 2 weeks time.
That next report will be my last. Radio silence will ensue in the last 2 weeks.

Week 76 update. All is well. On schedule. I will be landing in 14 earth days. Ship integrity nominal. Hull @ 79% PP 85%
Systems visited 600 (20,600 total) / break.
5 ELW's to report. (139 total) encrypted data sent.
I am so close I can see Bernards Loop in the distance.
It seems like yesterday when I saw it last...

I have several more points of interest to explore in the remaining 2 weeks.
My goal of 21,200 system's is well in reach.
I'm still have difficulties with the new camera. I hope to put more learning into this but its difficult to find the time.

This will be my final report.
I will be landing in 14 earth days.
I'm very excited about returning home, but I must remain focused. Therefore:
Radio silence will now commence.

{thanks for the support my fellow explorers. I will update when I've landed and share my earnings after I've sold my data. Also I will submit my ELW's to Marx}

The Sagan Voyager 1041 has successfully landed @ Stevensons Mines in the Kano system. 18 Months to the Day I left. :D

I lost my screenshot of my stats when I started but thankfully I did write them down.

I was 50 % to pathfinder
Systems visited 1368
Jumps 2221
Hyperspace distance 25,656

So here's a shot of what I have now (I have not sold anything yet)

v8raqV5.jpg

So this trip was 21,227 systems
143 ELW's
1889 Neutron stars
338 Black holes
448 "Rare" stars
Hyperspace 445,590

Here's a shot of my credits before I start selling. (Had To buy and sell some stuff) I will post a final number once I've got everything sold!

Welcome home, or welcome back to the bubble anyway. I'm still on holiday here, I'll be heading home (back into the black) soon. If only I hadn't decided to add the Engineering panel to EDD, now I have to unlock all of them to double check the app matches the game...

Talking to a friend that plays... I've decided I simply have too much data to lose by bouncing around the bubble for pemits that are kinda worthless.
I must be smart with this and limit my chances of loosing it all.
It's strange being in a hanger and not exploring.
I'm missing it already (Cruento I agree)

Welcome home. Don't do anything stupid. After 18 Months, you may not remember well how oddly one has to behave in "Society".

I would not want to Switch places with you. It will take you days to sell all that data. Remember to stay in solo if you want to use all that data to improve your Standings with several factions. You don't want to loose everything while Station-hopping.

First off, welcome back!

Not all permits are worthless, unless you don't plan on visiting their systems anyway. But you're right that you simply have too much to lose for it to be worth hopping around systems. If you actually want a specific permit, with the increased payouts you can get enough data to get to Allied quite quickly. But if you don't want rep with anyone, then it doesn't matter where you sell.

Well, good luck getting through the sale!

BTW that's 425 pages of data. Also, most if not all of the time, you will have that tedious pop-up that tells you that you are first discoverer of....

15-20 seconds per page, that's almost two and a half hours of pure Entertainment. Enjoy! :p

Don't Forget to redeem your elite plus rank in the Forums.

I have also noticed you didn't drive a SRV yet! If you have Horizon, you're in for some great additional Explorer-fun from now on.
