Legendary Disk Delivery Date

I've been looking at the disk version of ED on Amazon US. It's available for preorder, but it's unclear if it will arrive on June 27th or be shipped on June 27th. Their page says, "This item will be released on June 27, 2017." (emphasis mine)

That's weird wording. I've preordered movies on BluRay from Amazon, and they tend to use very precise language to say that the disk will arrive on the release date. This language is not so precise.

What are you folks seeing in your prospective countries and software outlets? I'd rather get the digital version if there's even a chance that the physical disk ships late. Ironically, when I've preordered movies in the past, sometimes they get here a day early!

I'm just going to the local video game store and picking up a copy. Amazon is great, but I'd rather pick up games in person.

See you in-game.

Digital version in NZ is June 27th though, right?

yes indeedy - but i need to check the PSN page again when i get home - I've seen some UK ones saying download starts 25th - pretty sure mine says 27th.

Anyhoo - i'm not in for the physical version - 1,000 points is not enough to tempt me to spend my money twice!

I preordered many games from Amazon US. they all came delivered on launch day. I switched to BestBuy for the Gamers Club Unlocked They also have been great at hitting delivery on launch day.

Amazon normally have a deal that allows them to ship pre-orders the day before launch day, so that they arrive on launch day.

I use shopto, good company! :)

All amazon UK pre orders are shipped to arrive on release day although I prefer to trust dedicated game retailers for big releases.

Although some peeps will get the game delivered early and I'll be trying to log in at midnight we're all at the mercy of when fdev flick the switch on the servers!

If they don't let us know closer to the time I'll start a thread bugging them to let us know lol ;)

Past experience is that amazon will ship such that it should arrive on the release date (so 2 days before hand usually). The only problem is if the item is delayed in transit (which amazon can't control).

Disclosure: I work for AWS, but don't have any special knowledge of the main part of amazon.

Most of the time updates seem to come in after the tuesday server restart, which is 7-8am GMT so i'd guess servers open around 30 mins after that
so those who get the game delivered on the 27th are (probably) gonna be late to the party unless the US has midnight deliveries! lol

digital ftw :)

My digital delivery date is definitely my midnight on the 25 june. London is 11 hours behind me so that makes the opening time for digital downloads, 11am morning of the 25 th.

Most online only games either fire up the servers the day before or at least by midnight on launch day.

I hoping for the same with ed as I plan on setting up my characters halo me and having a few deliveries done before I hit the sack ready for a day off work on launch date :D

I've been looking at other "Coming soon" titles on Amazon. Some say, "choose 2nd Day Deliver to get this title on release day", others have a "Buy Digital" option alongside the buy new option, and there's a green "Play on release day" beside the digital option only. ED has neither of these options, which is pushing me toward the digital version via PSN (preorder). I actually prefer digital, except when it costs more.

If this were any other game, I'd wait until it was on holiday sale, as I'm usually very frugal. Somehow ED has bewitched me to throw patience out the window, frugality to the wind, and cash at Frontier. That said, I'm not buying both physical and digital - that's just silly [wacko]

well i am getting my pre order 2am Friday, fingers crossed then i won't need to do anything but wait. then if i feel i need to i will get legendary disk copy 2-3 months later just to get a physical manual

Don't forget that psn credit codes can be usually be bought at a slight discount from some sites (cdkeys for one in uk), so the digital version price can effectively be considered as discounted too ;)
