I'm really struggling to make it a quarter of the way without completely killing my speed on a bad bounce. I'm gonna keep on trying though! I just wanna break into that 6 minute group [hotas]

I am very disappointed with myself :( I have been trying, and trying, and trying... but I keep getting worse and worse times each time I re-try the run... I can't even beat my own initial time....

Sigh I guess probably I can't submit a better time before the deadline is up...

Good luck to you guys though! o7

I don't know about you but for me the planet being in the dark right now makes it especially difficult. I usually can't see where I'm gonna land until I'm directly on top of the spot.

well, I still Havent beaten my time, but, I have managed to hit 490 m/s right before dying on a bad bounce. still trying. [haha]

You got up to 490 before reaching the base?! I didn't think it was possible to accelerate that much in such a short distance. My best run felt like I spent 90% of the time tilt-boosting and I "only" was up in the 300s when I crossed the finish.

Not quite, I flew past the base at like 390 or so, I was way too focused on speed, and totally missed the base. My fault, so I just kept the hammer down, wanted to see if maybe I could instead smash Nookie's speed record instead. I probably hit 490 maybe a minute after that or so; then slammed into the ground almost instantly after. [haha]

you might want to fiddle with the time format, currently looks like myself and a few others are taking just under a full day to complete the course. Aterfax looks like they've taken just over 2 days (50 hours) to make the run. Gets a bit weird between 17th and 18th place. potential fix: do the times just as minutes and seconds, have the +hour times to be like 86minutes 12, etc. (nice twist with the no repairs btw)

It bothers the heck out of me, but, I cant for the life of me figure out how to fix it. I have fiddled with it for awhile before giving it up. Like, it triggers what little OCD I have, but I suck at dealing with google sheets.

highlight the whole sheet, hit format from the menu,
and then from the drop down hover over numbers and select plain text.

and/or write times as
00d 00h 00m 00s

Well, here's the best run I've been able to turn in yet. I had a couple of DNFs and another run that was a bit slower than this one... yeah, looks like I'm just in this for the fun of it! :D

Start: 01:50:38
Finish: 02:28:35
Total time: 37:57

I'm going to try to get at least one more run in before I have to return to my BGS duties. This has been a lot of fun so far, so thanks again for getting this together. I play ED on both Xbox and PC, and for this event I had to go with Xbox (my PC cmdr is out in the Conflux right now, way too far to compete in the Rally). As such I didn't see anyone racing when I was there. Next time I think maybe I'll try to enter on my PC... it would be cool to watch and learn from, and maybe even run with the best!

OK, off to try and get under 30 mins. If I can do that, I'll feel like I've accomplished something... maybe. :)

veg, out. o7

EDIT: I almost forgot... my SRV's name is "Cliff Racer". And I'm not really on a team per se, but I am an AEDC member... not that my time would make them particularly proud, ha ha! :D

Looks likes you're buying the drinks Mr Turner, just went sub 25.

Nice going, congrat's! I haven't had a chance all weekend. I'm certainly capable of a sub-25 (I might even keep trying after the race has finished just to prove it to myself) but well done for getting there first. The drinks are on me!

I can relate to that, it's how I felt at the end of my last session. And it's utterly bewildering when other people are going 4 times as fast. Anyway, like I said above, I think I might try and prove to myself that I can do a sub-25 over the next day or two and then walk away from it (I probably shoulda done that after sub-30 but my little wager with Nitrogue kept me pushin' and I can't leave it now :p)

Oh, and nice goin' on the fundraising ... $228 so far eh? I know it's a way off the 1K target but that's still pretty decent. Well done for organising and for the livestream Raijiin!

Eh it's a shame the race had to end with the planet in the dark. My landings were left mostly to luck, aiming for something that looked like it might be a bump, only to find out it's actually a pit between two bumps. Only managed to finish one run in the last 24 hours[downcast]

Anyway it was lots of fun, and I'm amazed that I was able to get my time down to 7 minutes! Thank you for organizing Raijiin!

So wait... is it over? I thought it ran til midnight tonight, but maybe it was last night? Of course, if the course is in the dark through midnight I guess it's rather moot. I was there earlier but left hoping the sun would come back out by the time I got back (I was far too lazy to try to determine the timing for sunrise myself, ha ha!)

It is til midnight. Hopefully the sun comes out again! Unfortunately I won't be around to see it if it does though

Hey, Thanks all for participating, I am just relaxing after a long gaming session last night. I'll post the updated leader board in a few hours. There is still 3 hours and 15 minutes left to post times, as we are going by midnight game time. Also, the race will finish in darkness. I might have made a slight error in rotation, by a day. if you crank the gamma it is nearly like daylight though. I feel it just adds to the challenge. I did get much faster in the darkness, but, I got unlucky with my aim. As we, CCG, sponsored and set up the event, I am not really that fussed over beating Nookie, by just a few seconds, as it's literally that close. Also, I am Forfeiting my place for a prize, since I am actually putting up a prize, seems odd. so, at any rate, it skips me. And thanks Alec, we have managed $241 now, which is amazing, yes it's shy of the goal, which, I honestly felt we could achieve. I guess I aim high when setting goals? It is really awesome though. It is still open for donations though, so if you're feeling generous, by all means, help us out guys. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/CandyCrewGuild :D

I had a bunch of fun with this event though. We usually do a different style of racing, with everyone instanced at once, so this was a first. We had a good time, a few of us turned out and threw down some good times. I think we may try this again in the future. Anyway, I'm gonna chill, and eat some food and enjoy my holiday weekend, hope ya'll are doing the same. :)
