Potential Key Maps/Controller Layout

Wander does anyone have a rough idea what the controls will be? Anyone got an xbox for example who can advise what there layout is.

Can the layout be edited?

Either way I know it will be complex. Any ideas

I use a PS3 gamepad from time to time. They'll probably have more optimized options for the ps4 (like context menus) but the keybindings are near infinitely customizable because you can add as many key combinations as you want. I use the right 4 buttons as modifiers for the d-pad. That gives 16 keybindings with another 28 options if you start using 3 buttons at once and all of that is just on 4 buttons + a d-pad. I also heard head look will be attached to the gamepad's tilt so free look will be excellent from the get go.

I wouldn't worry about controls.

WOW sounds extensive. so we can literally do what we want, that's cool as[woah]

Thankfully if you press and hold a contextual button an overlay of the dpad shows onscreen the currently available actions for each direction :)

Even after almost two years I sometimes have brain fade ;)

This game has the best keybinding options I've ever seen. I actually have everything I need bound twice so I can pick up my gamepad or go keyboard/mouse whenever I feel like it. Some things you can actually bind 3 times (2 key bindings plus an analog axis binding). I don't know if the PS4 version will have multiple bind options for each function like PC but it may since you have the option of using a PS4 flight stick or the controller. I'd really recommend a set of pedals. Good forward and reverse thrust control will make you king of most fights. That's the only thing I haven't figured out how to map in a useful way to just the gamepad.

I am looking forward to seeing what they do with the pad. They said in a video once that there were lots of things they could do with it and were going to maximize it's usage.

I'd considered getting the hotas just for ED, but cramming a big tv and the joystick onto a desk would be awkward, and ultimately rearranging the whole tv & ps4 setup just for one game seemed a bit overkill.

Make sure it's the t-fight 4, NOT the x. My 50in is on the wall, my hotas is mounted to a lap board, my ps4 is on a book shelf under my tv. Desk top is except tor my feet, empty.
