I've posted this as a bit of possible help for me and other users that may be getting this issue.
A bit of back ground, I've had a DK2 since before the CV1 was a thing, worked fine and had no issues etc ever even when I was messing with dev stuff.
Recently I have been getting a lot of HDMI unplugged errors from the set up. Seemingly random these generally pop up during docking and or fighting, basically at any time you'd rather they didnt.
This causes the game to become unresponsive, oddly before the recent Oculus update I was still able to fly from the monitor screen with the rift balanced on my head, now this does not work. The fix restart ED and carry on great until you have to join back up with the wing players or crew you had before.
My initial thoughts were the HDMI socket is loose or the cable is coming out etc as seems to be the fix for a lot of users getting this error.
Tried a new high quality HDMI cable with the same results, socket is nicely attached on both the Rift and the Graphics card.
I have disabled power saving on the USB 3 and USB 2 ports on the machine, which others had suggested would work. The only USB 3 things I have are the Connections for the Rift.
I found out that when the event happens what is actually happening is the receiver camera is disconnecting for a second or so and reconnecting.
I put the whole thing down to me moving my head too much but it will even disconnect while sat on the desk not moving.
The PC is well over the minimum spec and is all just under a year old as I built it with VR in mind after my old rig started to creak under the load.
Oculus say the issue is i need to buy a CV1 to fix the issue but I'm not really up for that seeing as how some users are reporting the same issue in the CV1.
currently on the list is a USB card recommended by Oculus which I'm installing later as this apparently fixes the issue.
If that doesn't work a roll back of Oculus drivers etc to the one that worked better.
Obviously a CV! would be the better bet but seeing as I only use the DK 2 for ED and Project cars I'm not loving the out lay cost.
Anyone have any pearls of wisdom to add ??
I will post my findings here if any ones interested.
