Looks like London is under siege.

So far 3 separate incidents are occurring right now.

Yep more than 1 dead and a number of stabbings!

Something serious has to happen other wise this is going to happen again, again and again!

Latest reports suggest the the incident at Vauxhall was unconnected, and not a terror attack.

With all due respect to the victims, one casualty is not 'being under siege'. But this discussion will play out the same as any previous one, so feel welcome to sell-out your culture and turn your country into a police state because 'something has to happen!'. IS thanks you.

Just so everyone is clear, London is not actually under siege at the moment. 100% of Londoners will wake up, see the news, go to work, have a pint or cocktail or two after work, say balls to terrorists as they ALWAYS do, and carry on being citizens of the Greatest City in the World (fact). Nothing to see here.

As an expat currently living elsewhere, I will actually be back in London next week, and will most assuredly be meeting up with friends in London and having a few drinks. And nothing will stop me (unless the trains aren't running...), but I don't think we need terrorists for that.

Seventy years ago, London was ACTUALLY under siege. You were bombed regularly and many many people died day in day out.

I'm not sure who the 'you' you are referring to is, because the hyperbole seems mostly to be coming from people who've apparently never been closer to London than a cinema showing of National Lampoon's European Vacation.

"You" as in London as a whole.
I can't fathom how in the grandparents of those now in charge managed to maintain unity and function in the face of what was seen during the 1940's, and yet this generation goes to pieces through not much more than poor journalism.
All respects to the victims, but the majority of the hysteria is perpetuated by the media in these instances. They are as, if not more, destructive than any two bit terrorist.
