ive just reinstalled eddi after reinstalling elite and now eddi keeps crashing if i enable the plugin support through voice attack it crashes voice attack out as well.

Using the beta - how do I reduce the number of messages the station reads coming in over the comms? Like have it so Commanders only register? It's repeating redundant information from stations as I come in. It's not something that can be switched off, either. It's just reading the text that pops up on the Comm panel.
Another, rather funny thing:
Body report after DSS scan reads planet names ending with a 'g' like 'blabla 5 grams'...
Are you using an IVONA voice ? I wanted my AI to say "just a sec" and it comes out as "just a seconds" when I use one of my IVONA voices.
"just a sec 5 g" becomes "just a seconds 5 grams"
"just a sek 5 G" sounds right

I wondered why my ship names are always lowercase letters in EDDI, so i think it's the Journal?
Or could body names / ship names and such be converted to uppercase before pronouncing?
That could eliminate the prob...

Ok, here the facts. Yesterday I updated VA to version 1.6.5. I have started VA as a normal user. I got an ERROR. I started VA as an admin user and all is OK !
I have installed ED as an normal user an it works with VA with admin rights very good. I copied the profiles in the admin-path. EDDI is installed as an plug-in in VA an now EDDI don't find
the path to the normal user (is normal bacause VA run as admin). How can I solve the problem ?
System Win 10 64 bit
ED - installed as normal user (netlog and journal in the user path)
VA - installed as normal user but start with admin rights
EDDI - installed as plug-in from VA (path for the json-files in the admin path)

Just for fun I tried out all single letters with IVONA and found this:

g gets grams
h gets hours
l gets liters
L gets liters
m gets meters
t gets tons
y gets yearsthis only seems to happen when the single letter follows a number and one or none space like "5 g or 5g". If there is no number or more than one space it's fine, like "h g" or "5 g".
converting lowercase to uppercase fixes all problems but one: 5 l and 5 L both give 5 liters.
Furthermore things like 5 Mb becomes 5 Megabits and 5 MB becomes 5 Megabytes but these are hardly a problem unless someone named their ship ending like that
I also tried another way to solve the just a sec becoming just a seconds (instead of using sek) and that only works when I use Sec instead of sec. Using SEC gives S E C.
After scanning (DSS) some planetary bodies, EDDI gets confused, only repeating 'I'm not sure which body you're asking about'. VA crashes when trying to close it afterwards. After a fresh start, everything is back to normal.
Also, i sometimes have VA crash at first start. Starting the second time it works as intended. Seems to be random.

I'm using boring old Microsoft Zira (that's not an IVONA voice afaik, right?) but I get the same thing.
You're right. I only tried with the first MS-voice in the list on my system, Microsoft David Desktop and that sounded right, "just a sec 5 g" so I thought it must be IVONA related.
Now I tried the other MS-voices like Zira and some say "just a seconds 5 grams" and some say "just a s e c 5 grams"

Looking for some help in terms of playing music at certain points in ED using EDDI. Does anyone know how I script and have an example script for the Syntax?
I do not have Voice Attack and wonder if this is possible without it.

It should be possible without VoiceAttack. Look here first & let us know if you need further direction.

According to my knowledge..
You need Voice Attack or similar because EDDI can not make direct calls to other sound players.
Except for text-to-speech player that you have installed (the original windows, IVONA, etc etc).
Voice Attack is cheap less than 15 Euros..

A excepcion de reproductor de texto a voz que tengas instalado (el original de windows, IVONA, etc etc).
Voice Attack es barato menos de 15 Euros..

i got a fairly small feature request: in the material monitor, could we get a field to enter a 'threshold warning beginning at xx slots left' ?
Allow me at this point to express my biggest 'thank you' to you. What you achieved with the mats/blueprints in conjunction with VA is simply astounding.
It's most immersive asking your ship of the amounts of xyz i have in hold, where to obtain / what use is xyz and so on.

No need to disable the monitors. EDDI 2.2.1 or later recognizes when you're in ED-beta and won't send data.

Cheers for the help cmdrs. I sorted playing music, I got VA anyway. Now have various songs playing at various triggered events in game. My next question is if I get a HCS voicepack will that replace the voice that talks back to me from EDDI/VA
