Let's talk about IP harvesting!

My dear GF - the internet is populated by many loud and inarticulate squeakers who scream "I haz ur IP I haxx you on HTTPS soz I brix ur FACEBOEK!"

They never fail to entertain ;)

However, once upon a time FD were guilty of delivering FQDN's to all and sundry - and that was a problem.

Elite uses ports in a, well, unique way, in that there is no restricted or expected range. It will quite happily open sockets to every port imaginable, go up and down that range in a single session, and sometimes alter those connections on the fly.

It's quite clever. It's also a bit of a nightmare. I can't really say much more without getting walloped - but anyone even half-way competent with networks will corroborate.

Don't have much to say about IP harvesting, not sure they're in season, but any time somebody starts a subject with "Let's talk about" I want to run screaming from the room.

Harvested IP's are no big deal. To prove it I'll post my own IP address right here. Hang on. Let me pull it up... here it is.

My IP address: 127.0.0.1

Do your worst.
