Good job frontier! Engineer exploit fixed in 24 hours!

Try it for yourself and see if it works? No better proof than that.

Only someone adept at doing it would know. I don't know the timing, so any attempt would likely fail. It failed for the dev that was trying it in February and he's a dev.

Now it would be nice if you finally fixed heat cannons... Which have been running rampant since the dawn of engineering. [alien]

Cool they did it, but:

literally EVERYONE who was aware of that bug now have ships with 140+ DD, uber boosters, uber shields, cool rails, and everything stacked on at least 2-3 ships (FDL, Cutter, Conda, Clippa)
Almost EVERYONE who you do not want to meet in the galaxy - have that ship.

Who will NEVER get that ship? Other players who played without using exploit
Because its almost impossible by statistic to roll that everything in proper way.

So what You can do?
1. Become a lord of Eravate, hunt asps, sideys, explo conda's.
2. Become a PvE master
3. Pack the sack and move on to the Star Citizen in 2047

PvP sign-ups are already closed. Plyayers have ZERO chances with non-exploit rolled ship against a person with maxxed one. Its no matter of your skill. In that other ship even monkey can drive and will always win (in fact in uber ships are very good pilots so its dual combo).

Only one reasonable solution is redesign engineers, puth all rng into the trash and make it in a sliders way to give everyone same chances to build his very own ship.

the best one suggestion: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/6ft2z2/serious_engineers_and_the_grind/
Sliders:

Change Engineers from being completely RNG-based to being slider-based. Increase the mats costs by 5-10x for all I care, but let me choose the specific stats I have on the mod and see the drawbacks, that way I can completely plan my ship to fit together perfectly. I don't need +35% power on my plant to run my build, I only need +10%, so let me sacrifice some power for a little more integrity without doing 200+ rolls to get there.

This will enable builds that can be perfectly crafted by the pilot to meet their exact needs. Explorers can optimize their FSD to get them the max range they want with their builds. Combat pilots can squeeze a little bit more speed/agility out of their ships by surgically shaving weight off their modules and shoving all their points into a higher optimal multiplier on a drive mod.

On top of that, building a new ship after a meta change would take a fraction of the time, so FDev could mess around with values a lot more without ing off the entire community, because all you'd need is one set of mats to get the exact values you'd want. This would also promote build diversity because it's no longer a 200 hour grind to fully outfit a ship just to see if it works.

But as we all know - it wont happen.

Do you see what they can do when they actually care? A bug that they have known about for god knows how long and they were happy to let it sit on the back burners until this biowaste storm forced it public and for them to do something sooner rather than their beloved "later".

Oh they can fix this bug in under 72 hours of it being public but we just have to listen to the wrong audio messages go off anytime we get shot for another month...

I agree with all of that. Engineers are a disaster. Complete rework or in the trash, the only way. I don't recommend this game to friends because of engineers and the grind.

It is blatantly obvious at this point that Frontier MUST take the time to identify and REMOVE ALL CHEAT SHIPS from the game... PERIOD.

It is not enough to punish the cheaters who used this exploit. Until the fruits of their dishonest labors are deleted from the game, there will be no trust present towards combat in OPEN. I have encountered these cheaters and their Cheat Ship on several occasions, and I know exactly what to look for in identifying a cheated upgraded ship from a fair play one.

I encountered one last night in the Open Beta! So... Despite this latest action on the part of Frontier in removing the exploit itself, the cheaters and their indestructible ships are still out there as we speak!

I did report the cheater I encountered last night to Frontier Support. Anyone who suspects they have encountered a "Cheat Ship" should do the same. Frontier knows what to look for, so even if you are wrong about your suspicions, best to let FD sort it out on their end rather than not reporting it.

Stop acting like a jealous 10 year old!

The guy was asked how he knew and he told you. Your reply was immature and inapproriate.

GROW UP!

How about you calm down , such a sensitive flower. It was a joke , however poorly implemented it maybe .. since the OP didnt seem to take offence i dont see why you feel the need to bunch up your girdle... now if you dont mind, jog on.

How about you enlighten us on how you identify these ships? Because I am pretty sure you just ran into someone stronger than you and started crying cheater since you lost. You are reasonable enough to leave it to Fdev. Others are not. INB4 everyone starts calling everyone cheaters with no evidence at all how about you tell us your secrets at identifying them?

Care to share?

Two most obvious signs... They take no damage, and their weapons have no recharge time.

If you know how normal versions of the weapons they use behave, and the expected damage you will encounter with a max G5 upgrade, it is very easy to tell when those values are far beyond fair play specs.

This isn't rocket science for those with more than a room temperature IQ.

Nope. I know a Cheat Ship when I see one.

If you want to live in denial be my guest. The rest of us will continue to report suspected cheaters as we encounter them and let Frontier sort them out. As I said before, if we are wrong about a particular player, no harm no foul. However... If we are right, then there will be one less scum bag in the game.

I'm seeing a lot of guilty consciences in this thread all of a sudden. ;)

You're insane. That's not what the exploit does. It is mostly likely that they're just significantly better than you. If you have TRULY encountered someone that fits both of those criteria, then they are a hacker, not using this exploit.
