General / Off-Topic Why does nobody repair the entrance to 10 Downing Street ?

Why nobody repair the entrance to 10 Downing Street ?

This is not pharaonic work and which requires months of implementation. There is no other temporary entrance in this building ? A little mortar and the case is resolved

For some time my attention was attracted by these images. I just wanted to share, as I wonder if this prestigious place deserves a similar entrance. I know that many buildings in all the countries require work, but here, just a little mortar ...

And that's the kind of reaction i'm ever going to have in some questions.

Because you see? The fact you good with the things how they are / don't care / Don't want to change it?
Or to talk about some of my personal baggage? Cannot even take the stench of the other person?

Reason enough!
And nothing else necessary.

It's England so first we need a group of overweight workman standing around it making teeth sucking noises for 2 hours, then comes 4 hours of sitting around drinking tea, then they'll disappear for 3 weeks as they do another job.

Of course before all that it has to pass through our Governmental red tape which takes anything up to 20 years.

We're on it! Don't pester us! :)

First we need to put 1,000 barrels of gunpowder under the houses of parliament. This has nothing to do with repairing the steps of 10 Downing Street, but right now, I think half the country would like us to finish the job Guy Fawkes & Co started.

THEN ... we go through all the red tape of repairing the steps ...

Considering the fact right now guy fawkes Spiritual heirs standing in the other side? I think that barrel of gunpowders must go to the darkest corners of the web first... :D And after that we can take care to the likes than TM Trumph & co.

Because to be honest? Right now, this bunch does the very opposite what they meant to do, and standing up for the most idiotic, most harmful ideas in this word.

At these times of austerity she can't be seen to be spending money on such trivialities; especially when there are new outfits to be paid for by the public purse.

Lets us hope it eventually gives way, under the weight of all the fat cats that step in and out of the place; brining her down with as bang , as it does so.

That patina is worth an Empire.

There is a wealth of information and history in them cracks. An archaeologist would cry if it was repaired ( In the future ). Every step of mighty men and women has formed that pattern. The depth of exploration in the withered remains of the old past is like a universe in itself.

With all due respect toward history?!

Until someone breaks his / her neck because of the "patina". Which is in this case we both know, nothing more just a fancy word to justify its good enough so we cannot touch it laziness. :)
It's really good in a building, what represents the state of the whole nation? If you let it crumbling? That means the whole empire also let to crumble, because (i quoting myself!) -"it's good enough!" Yup! it is until it's collapses because of the cracks not taken care of. Or this already happened? [weird]

Do you see my point? :) Love of the tradition cannot meant stagnation and negligence.
Edit; Neither to not take out the old things from use, and respectfully put them to their well deserved resting place, like my people did with the so called art of communism after the regime change. We built them a sculpture park.

You may think it just a bit of mortar but that will be about 50 different forms you will have to fill out, get signed off before you even start mixing and applying the mortar, probably about 10 afterwards.

Yeah... That's the other thing what means the end of an empire. Overuse of red tape.
