Metro: Exodus (2018)

4A Games has revealed Metro: Exodus, the latest edition to the Metro series with striking new visuals and non-linear level designs.

This game will be based on the same stealth-action, survival horror pedigree of the Metro series, with a new story that is inspired by the works of Dmitry Glukhovsky in his novels Metro 2033 and Metro 2035.

This game is expected to release on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2018, though at this time it is unknown whether or not this game will be supporting Xbox One X, with the trailer below running at 1080p 60FPS and not 4K.

Brilliant, way overdue a successor to STALKER series - let's hope it's just as moddable, although their previous games haven't been, more's the pity.

For those wanting to scratch that STALKER itch, here are two fairly new releases (sort of), based on STALKER:

Wind of Time

Lost Alpha: Directors Cut (LADC)

Both can be found on ModDb, but for LADC there's also the official web-site - links above.

I can heartily recommend both, particularly Wind of Time - which is a fresh new story-line set in the STALKER environment, and looks to be very well engineered. (Just be aware the English translation is a first edition - better will come.)

I'll be honest I gave up on wind of time because some of the translation was so bad I couldn't work out what I was supposed to be doing or even which response to click, I think some of it has just been run through google translate. I've been playing OGSE, which is just the original but much improved with some good additional quests

I like games like that and played the first two in the series, but... the horror, the horror....
I have a hard time coping with awful monstrous creatures attacking me from the shadows.

I love this series. It has its annoyances but on the whole it's a great franchise. That video looked very scripted of course and I'd hope that it wouldnt be quite so on rails in the final wash up. I hope to see damn dog creatures actually do go down with one shotgun blast also...in previous games they were a nightmare at times to put down.
