FD, are you serious? New Dolphin and Orca paints :(

In 3303, there are many clones of Steve Jobs made from archived DNA. Of course we're going to have ships that look like this:

Actually reminded me more of those cheap Dell netbooks from a few years ago:

Having said that, I don't hate them.

Of course, bro! Here's my missile:

Silvia S12 w/ fully adjustable racing coilovers, S13 front geometry, NISMO two-way lsd etc... Blew the engine (240++ hp CA18ET) last summer so I'll get an RB25DET + gearbox soon enough.

Pretty sure FD knows a number of people want this. The issue is less "Can FD figure out you want it?" and more "There are people who will happily spend that $120. Are there more than twenty to thirty times as many than that who would spend $4 - $6 to make it more profitable to do it your way?"

You're demanding twenty to thirty times cost reduction in a good that is selling. You need to have overwhelming demand on your side to make it worth doing. You're not just suddenly a market worth investing in just because you declare you have a price you're willing to pay.

I'd be willing to buy the full Adobe Creative Suite, if I could get it for $50. I don't demand Adobe "figure out" I'm a market worth investing in.

How about Creative Cloud (All Apps) for $5 - http://www.techsoup.org/products/ad...-–-access-to-discounted-rates--G-49388--Tasks

And honestly, I would likely spend more than just $4-$6 for a more inclusive pack, and I'm sure others would too, but certainly not $120. Of course, we're talking about gamers, and among them live those who have spent upwards of $10,000 on auction sites for virtual items. https://successstory.com/spendit/most-expensive-virtual-items-in-video-games

There's little left the human race could possibly do to surprise me.

They're ok, though I might argue the purple looks more pink to me. What I'd love is more Chris Foss inspired paint schemes as the only ones we have are the Turbulence pack on the T6

I'd like to find a flames paint job for some of the ships I own.

Cobra and Eagle have the Red/Orange Ignition paint jobs. Ive had the Orange on my Cobra since I got the ship. I'm adding the Reaver Kit, and its the down-and-dirty pirate ship I've always wanted. They really need to make the Ignition paints for the other ships!

As far as these new ones go, I approve of variety, so having some non-combat paintjobs is refreshing. Now we need some fun and happy decals to put with them! Flowers and smiley faces seem appropriate. Maybe I'll add the Onionhead decal to the green paintjob...

Ok, I clamoured for paints for the Dolphin. But please, don't blame me for this.

Usually, I like what FD is bringing on. But come on, this isn't my little pony. The two-tone idea is nice, but the execution... I wouldn't want to be seen dead in that. "Cute" is the first idea that came to my mind - but I supposed this was Elite Dangerous, not Elite Digestive Biscuit.

Cosmetics are art and therefore judged subjectively. Don't like don't buy. It's not rocket surgery.

... Some think Picasso works are masterpieces, I find his paintings terrible (apart from the early, realistic works). ...

Not liking something doesn't mean it's terrible. You're probably just looking at his work through the wrong mindset and preconceptions to be able to appreciate the skillful and artistic representation of his subjects and the viewer's perception of them. That last bit is an important piece to the puzzle, I think.

I don't like American country music (if such a thing even exists), nor Americana pop, but I think the following is pretty damn brilliant in its skillful and emotional execution.

Offtopic, but in my opinion, to me, they are terrible. To you they may not be. I am not looking through the wrong mindset, I am looking through my perception of what's beautiful and what's ugly. Art cannot be judged objectively. It is both good and bad at the same time. It's like Schrodinger's cat ;)

Where is the line between art and kitch? What makes art art? It's an expression of artist's emotions, feelings etc. Who's to say that this form of expression is bad and that one is good.

But that's a topic that's been discussed since forever.

Steve Jobs, inventor of lollipop colors...

If you're going to bother respecting someone's life work, at least do it honestly. Steve Jobs was a revolutionary computer and technology marketing pitch guy, getting people to part with their money based primarily on how they were persuaded to feel about Apple branded electronic machines instead of the technical capabilities of the machines themselves. For a technology related industry and their products, this was pretty ambitious and not always successful.

Copier of other ideas, inventor of nothing really innovative - Apple effectively stole the concept of the WIMP interface from Xerox (way back), and nothing they have done since then has been particularly innovative or revolutionary IMO.

I agree with the general stance of those highlighting the new paint designs as being more airline/commercial themed. It will not be everyone's cup of tea but that is the general point with having a variety of paint job options.

Since FD seem to be moving more towards enhancing existing content and there seems to be a moratorium on adding new real features for a while (atmospheric landings and possibly walking about being the two most anticipated NEW features that seem to be on the back burner) perhaps a wider range of paint jobs (and ship kits) will start appearing across the board.
