But we're not talking about existing between stars, we're talking about barnacles.

Yeah I know - it's tenuous :)

But we already know that the nebulae are important, from MB. Apart from the dust reflecting the nearby starlight, there's not much else of interest with them - so I'm just reasoning that the dust must be/might be important.

So I'm thinking of joining in on the hunt since there's nothing else to do (got my Corvette last week, can't be bothered for the Cutter so I want to do something else).

But.. I want to know first if there's actually anything out there (something new) that is to be found? I've heard stories about the Formidine Rift thing that it was supposed to be in the game since the beginning, but a lot of evidence pointed towards it was only recently added before it was found.

Is there any factual confirmation from Frontier there is in fact (new) stuff in the game that hasn't been found yet and isn't inside Permit locked systems?

No concrete information that there is something to be found now (outside of permit lock), we're still speculating.

The ship in the Formadine Rift was always there from launch, there was just a recent upgrade.

Just getting in now for intellectual property purposes... Jmanis Catharg's patented TharGone™ is the only scientifically proven* way to keep those pesky Thargoids away.

* Employed in eight different Thargoid encounters, each time the Thargoid jumped away... QED!

You'll have a steady chain of Fed battlecruisers knocking on your door!

I don't know if this is worth reporting but I've found an UA in the Taurus Dark Region EL-Y D55 system, 135.27Ly away from Merope (a little bit too far?).

If some Thargoid is reading this I left the little guy unscratched, floating around and doing all kind of UA stuff. I absolutely didn't ram it by accident while taking selfies for science :x

I've been thinking about starting Pleiades Xeno Security servise.
Wing up with Han Zen and avoid any form of Thargoid interaction. :(

What is this witchcraft??? Crashed Vessel under the ground about 3-5km under? Its in the main UA's region aswell as in the nebula.

Might be a bug however the planet feels weird and sounds even worse.

Please have a look for yourselves i was out hunting UA's

It is a bug, however the bug is that the tourist beacons are also over 1Mm away from the actual crash sites (in addition to being underground).

I've recently had a lot of experience in heading to the crashed vessels...

Yeah. I discovered that problem last time I was there. You have to stick to using the coordinates to find the ship. The POI is defect.

Yep. It's just the old crash site at -35 -141.3; the one on the side of the hill in the center of the crater with several crashed human vessels.

I just checked out the FDS-RD5 capital ship at the distress signal site in HIP 17044. Creepy as hell. It looks like some sort of ship hull eating acid, corrosive or something like that that also maybe gets into the air system and kills everyone onboard.

Did anyone decoded the signals, similar to a morse code, which are coming from the thargoid-ship (1:42 - 1:47) ?

Maybe something like that:
