THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

I haven't kept up with this thread lately, so apologies if my post is a bit off topic, but I finally managed to make it out towards the Rift. Previously, the farthest I had ever been was to the Pleiades. Took me roundabout 16 hours of game time. My original goal was to get the 5000 lys. needed to unlock Palin, but figured why not go all the way? I almost decided to turn back towards the bubble with the recent events in the HIP 17044 system (and also kinda regretted lugging a Cutter all the way out here), but I'm glad I stuck with it. Only had one mishap along the way, and it was with a brown dwarf of all things. I am currently docked at Farsight Expedition Base, and will likely visit the Dynasty bases before returning home. Managed to take some screenshots along the way.

Azarath. My paint job fared better than I thought it would. Only got down to 81%:

I was totally surprised to come across a pyramid on one of the planets in the HYPUAE AIN FO-D C27-3 system (I thought I'd dropped into Egypt):

After trying to fly around the pyramid for further investigation, I ended up in some sort of force field and managed to escape with only 40% hull :(

It seems to be some sort of rendering bug, but looked totally cool and would make a good backdrop to any RP shots if you are so inclined :)

I was coming back from Sag A* when you posted this so I just now got there to take a look. I can confirm it was a glitch. There are a number of these "pyramid" type mountains all over the planet. They're scattered all over the planet, very sharp points. I believe what you were supposed to see was something like this:

7F0A034629B7EC1271A5B12822B03EBB96FA18AD

It did make an interesting trip just to confirm a "glitch" but if it HAD been a real pyramid, oh, think of the possibilities.

So still on my trading holiday, allied Pilots Fed and Dark Whdel, unlocked Alioth, still only 55% Tycoon. Went to Ega to ally Wreaken, and came across a very strange assasination mission (image of which I will try to post later): a non-Wreaken faction in Ega had
"Assassinate Pirate Lord: Rebecca Weston"

I took the picture and impolitely declined.

(Update: apparently it's working now)

I'm a few jumps away from Heart myself right now.

I mean the only "ghosts" we could have found were the Zurara crew. (LOL !)
A little poor to justify dozens of legends and myths talking of "ships disappearing" and others "weird heat signatures" commented in every space station bar of the bubble for years.

Some people are happy with the way things turned out.
Other people, not so much.
I've discovered it's easiest just to let it all slide ;)

Amputation can be a "happy" thing when unable to save the body/storyline otherwise. Yes.
(Look at my signature for an actual exemple. )
But it's a real pity anyway. The easy way is to let it slide ?..indeed !

I really liked the mystery myself. I spent most of it trying to figure it out alone while believing everyone in this thread (and those before it) were a bunch of tinfoil crazies but I think that was part of the fun.

We still don't know why Salome was near col 70. I'm not convinced that the greater mystery is over, just pivoting.

I think right now we are all in a holding pattern until Premonition is released. That will tell us if it's truly over, or if there is anything else left to do out there.
