How to land a Cutter - For all you new Imperial Wannabe's

How to land a Cutter:
1. God shields in solo.
2. Wait for flight control to clear all traffic within 1ls.
3. Try.

Or if you're me and flying bricks is what you do:
1. Drift that big girl in like a boss and slam the landing gear through the pad.
2. Possibly pay for a few funerals.
3. Read hate mail.

This is how you land a Cutter. :3

Trust me. I had a looooooong learning period, too. Now having to learn small nimble ships again. :(

? i always play in Open, was against any other mode from the start. As for shields, they were just about down as id just come from a warzone.

Eh...Wasn't directed at you. Was meant for humor. The God shields in solo comment was a nod to people going to solo to avoid the shame, which I do on occasion. :3

I've had my Cutter for over a week now, and have had little to no trouble at all manually landing, be it at a starport, surface port, or just on the surface of a planet/moon. Sure, she's a big ship, but not necessarily difficult. I quite like the flight model. It feels big, as it should, unlike the Corvette which is largely unaware of the laws of physics.

VR helps a lot; more situational awareness and depth-perception. A good HOTAS helps, too.

Never had any problem landing my cutter anywhere except a 9G planet when I forgot where I was for a moment.

Mind you, I'd flown a T9 for nearly a year by the time I could afford a Cutter so I was used to slow manoeuvring ships.

So, how to land a cutter? Slow and easy. Take your time. Make no sudden changes.

Thank you so much for the video, i always wondered how to dock. So to sum up:

Request docking permission
Fly through the letterbox
Land on the Pad

BRILLIANT! Cant believe i never figured this out!

Wait, you have to request permission? I've just being flying in and getting blown up. Gets me onto a pad in no time.
