The $200 Million Maia 1v1 Challenge!

Hi, I'm SDC's CMDR Urion. Recent advances in fair gameplay technology have opened up new possibilities of parity PvP, which is why I'm excited today to announce The $200 Million Maia 1v1 Challenge!
From today, June 22 through Sunday, July 9, look for me in Maia for your chance to win $20 million credits by being one of the first ten players to beat me in 1v1 combat.

The rules are simple: bring any ship to Maia (I will remain in Maia for the duration of the event), find me (friend request me to increase the chances of instancing), then message me in local chat "Maia Challenge". Then fight me 1v1 with any ship. If I die, you win the money. If you run or die yourself, the Challenge is over.

Disclaimer #1: When initiating the Challenge, I reserve the one time right to use low wakes to restock or repair at a station before the fight officially begins. In the case of this event, I will wing up with the challenger to facilitate meeting up immediately after leaving the local station. Once the fight begins, though, I will fight to the death.

Disclaimer #2: If the 1v1 turns into a gank (if you bring in more players to help you), it would be funny but you will forfeit the prize and the Challenge attempt will end. As a consolation prize, you'll be in a good position to gank me and send me to a ~ $7.5 million rebuy. I might low wake in these situations eventually, but probably not if it's entertaining.

Disclaimer #3: Each player has one shot at the Challenge. Other SDC members are not eligible. If an SDC member drops into the fight to help me, the current attempt will end with no penalty to the challenger and the match will restart with an option to move to a private group.

Winners will be awarded their prize via high value cargo transfer in a system of the winner's choice, as long as this system is no more than 1,000 ly from Sol and contains a station with the commodity you would like to use for transferring. To allow time for prize distribution, prizes will be handed out by the end of August.

Good luck, CDMRs!

Sounds good to me, Urion. I'm on vacation for the next week, but when I get back I'll be sure to look you up and have a go at the prize.

Why do sdc dudes feel the need to keep trying to attention w****, both here on the forums and on reddit?

Like...we get it. You shoot people. So do I. So do thousands of other commanders. We don't need a new thread about each and every ship that you've ever shot or are going to shoot. Also, 20 mil is chump change.

You guys act like an insecure early 20's college girl, always fishing for compliments or validation. Are the forums/reddit SDC's version of instagram?

Any objection to the use of synthesis to restock mid-fight?? I run a buttload of OC and rapid fire multicannons, I'm gonna need restock!

Can't say I'm impressed by this clause (Not that I'm into ED PvP anyway):
If an SDC member drops into the fight to help me, the current attempt will end with no penalty to the challenger...

Do SDC members really lack the discipline to stay out of a pre-arranged one-on-one fight?

If I show up in an scb stacked anaconda, will your plasma/rail fdl take that fight? What constitutes running on your end, and does running on your end count as a loss?

Um, that's a pretty cool and fair challenge the OP put up and a nice one in light of the removal of cheated mods from the game.

I saw an opportunity to leverage about a fifth of my cash savings into some rare guaranteed fair fights while the cheaters either quit or have to spend the time to re-engineer.

I am not far from Maia

If we are on at the same time, I will give it a spin

Not to see if I can win but to see how long I can survive

Or it would be if we could go a day without some sdc dude starting a thread about sdc.

My only mention of SDC (other than while introducing myself) was to specifically disqualify any of them from participating. This is about those of us who enjoy combat to have combat without wondering if the other is gaming the (well, THIS) system with some emergent content for myself. Also...prizes.

Ah, cool. What about my other question:

Reason I ask is cause I have an engineered conda but not an engineered fdl. Though I'd understand if your fdl doesn't want to take that fight.
