Today CMDR Synjorai of Canonn discovered Professor Melville's mega ship in Col 173 Sector LJ-F C12-0!

The mega ship's name is The Cete.

There's been found several ruins in the system as well - counting 5 at the time of posting. Seems like this might have been part of the original way to find the ruins.

Awesome discovery Cmdr Synjorai , i wonder if Mad Scientist Melville is trapped onboard and suffocated , or did he escape? are these the ruins he was looking for? GUARDIAN HOMEWORLD,was he close ? or just insane and deluded...

Braintree's on C 1 , expected them to be since guardian sites in system, around B star planets.

Congrats on the find, so many ruins........why though...........

I'm ready to believe that braintree's are definitely tied to guardians....but why?

I wonder if those brain trees are related to the guardians?

Possible theory... no evidence.
The AI was seeking independance from the monolith network.
The guardians were either split between those opposed to AI , and those for.

Maybe those that sought to keep the AI, knew of the AI's intent to have a body and so created bodies for the AI, the tree's .
Trapping them in a way from escaping servitude but also giving them safe bodies outside the monolith network which was under threat.

I think it's safe to say they are. Of all the brain trees we've cataloged every single one are in areas where guardian ruins are. We are still looking other places, but so far nothing. There are also a couple other organic sites we've been tracking down but alas, those appear to be hidden pretty well.

It is curious that, and I may be misremembering, no brain tree sites are found on planets with volcanism and ruins, but instead are only found on planets with volcanism and no ruins but in the same system as ruins.

Nice.

I have an allergy to coincidence, I break in a sweat and start shaking. Feeling a bit of a tremor coming on. So after 4 months of searching did this rather special site pop up now due to coincidence or has it popped up now due to a non-obvious correlation to other unfolding events.

Maybe the brain trees are where they are because of the Guardians but not through any action of the guardians, e.g. the Thargoids have an interest in Guardians as well and they're a side effect of Thargoid presence.

Not looked into the locations and ruins recently. Cant remember any being on a ruin planet with volcanism . There are many more guardian systems in the list now since i last looked properly.

I suspect though you probably are right, also a very good observation if it is .

Some other part of the guardian network perhaps? monoliths being the ruins interfaces, and the tree's are the server network?

Thargoids use barnacles or so it appears to collect material or energy from the planet.

Could be the tree's served the same purpose to the guardians.. Some sort of mining or energy collectors?

I'm slowly making my way to the Skaudi region, but when I get there I plan to thoroughly search for brain trees and more ruins. Try to see if I can get something turning in my brain about them or perhaps find some on planets with ruins.

Going back to that article though, perhaps now that we have found the ship, we can plot a course for it, where it might be heading after all we now know where it stopped and we know at least two of the previous systems they visted....not much to go on but maybe they were heading in the right direction towards the homeworld.

If you have read Pan's reply to this I might have to agree with him, that perhaps these sites are like the random mining sites we find around the human bubble. A place for the guardians to suck up materials from the ground and harvest.

Using the logic that volcanism offers a great variety of common and rare materials and that as far as we know not many ruins are on volcanically active sites, perhaps they sent something out to the planets there were active in order for them to get those materials.....but then it is still weird that, again as far as I know, that if there is volcanism on a planet with ruins why aren't there brain trees.....questions,questions,questions.

Brain tree double site

While looking for brain trees in the new mega ship system, I found a double crater and went to check if there could be double brain trees - and yes, there's two sites. One in each of the craters' center:

Awesome! Again, it's been a while since I've searched for brain trees, are all craters on planets with braintrees full of brain trees or just certain craters? Man I'm tempted to 3...2....1 it to get back to a ruins area and do some testing on "fungal" trees.

Just the "ejecta craters" - those with ejecta lines.

Right, guess I should have been clear, do all ejecta craters hold them. I thought I remember on one planet that a couple of the ejecta craters did but some didn't but It could be that I just missed them. I ask because I'm trying to figure why things are they way they are. If they don't appear in all ejecta craters on a planet why? Why don't they appear on planets with volcanism and ruins? so on and so forth?

That I cannot answer with total certainty. I think all have them, but I've not checked all ejecta craters on B3 and B4 - there's about 8-10 on those planets together.

Did some tests long ago, on two or thee planets with 10+ ejecta craters. all but one had them. So about 90-95% craters will if volcanic.

If i find a outcrop instead of tree's i check a second crater if there is one. Gives a good confirmation if there are tree's there.

Nice. a lot to check then, luckily they are easy to check and according to Pan, on the post below this one I'm quoting, chances are all of those craters will have them, if not all but one of them
