Get a gosh darn MIC!

Hello,

Just a request from a player to all other players, Invest in a Mic be it separate or part of a headset please! You have the time before the game is out and the game is going to support it!

It annoys me so much when I am playing games that have voice communications like TF2 for example and the game is a silent graveyard, are these bots I am playing against?

To make the Elite world a bit more ["real"] Get a mic and use it!

please,

Thank you.

i agree with you, but you should just tell that to your friends and i will only fly with people who know what their mouth is used for, i hate talking to myself and ED is long session game, so i see no point in flying around silently.

also as we will be instanced there is no need to force all to speak, so find your group and talk, it's 10000x more fun to talk and act instead of take a guess what your wingmen will do and where we go and what to do next :)

Voicecomms is a nice feature and all, but I'll use it occasionally and when I feel like it. There are just too many people I really don't care to listen to. :)

Edit: Oh and I hope they implement a mandatory push to talk button so we don't get all the obnoxious background crap that many people have.

I detest most Russian players. Most of the time then turn in voice comms and start swearing and whining for 30minutes and rage quit. When that heappens I wish I could not understand Russian. For some reason the Russian players swear much more than players from other countries.

I always disable voice comms as people never use them properly, they either swear or spam music.

There is another reason a lot of players will not use voice comes. A great many women will prefer not to be constantly trash-talked by misogynistic morons who should know better but revert to being 12 years old when playing computer games.

The only time i want to use a mic is for something like voice attack.
I hope they implant something like that in elite.

I have a mic, I have TS3, I assume I'll spend most of my time talking to friends rather than general chat. Guess each to their own preferences.

Which language will the OP be using? I've got just over a week to learn to speak it fluently. Should be plenty of time.

So we should buy a mic to improve YOUR gaming experience?

NO. For all the reasons already specified. I'll talk, and listen, when, where, and how I want to.

I vote Klingon

Woah... not an easy crowd this lot :p

I'll probably try using voice comms and if it starts ruining the game for me I'll just stop. I will not judge this games voice comm experience based on other games with completely different target group/audience.

What would be cool is if a player could select what kind of comms they prefer to use, and there would be a conversion to each type if incompatible. As in, one player uses text, the other voice. The voice transmissions are changed to text, and text to voice.
