The problem with the new C&P improvements

Nope, more like murder indiscriminately in the large ships or FDLs/ FAS.

It basically ensured people will fly nothing but the top tier PvP vessels.

Before you guys at least had a small chance of killing your attacker. Now, not so much....

Hey you could probably kill me in a Cobra. Makes no difference to me ;)

Completly pointless argument. All I ask is a single UI line that tells me their crimes status. It's going to make PVP better for me but leaves you PVEers untouched.

Now I need to add, as I got carried away (the very mention of legit PvP is likely to send me into a tantrum), displaying the status of another player's crime report is perfectly fine by me of course.
I'm just strongly oppposed to suggestions to prevent changing it mid-fight.

No, that is utterly pointless.

MAY AS WELL CALL IT ELITE: EURO TRUCKER

Why? You want to PvP someone, in a system where there is law you run the risk of cops turning up and pew pewing.

Interdict your target, tell them to get to nearest anarchy system (you would be amazed how many there are within 1 jump of most systems), go there and have at it!

you want to PvP those eurotrucking fools, then interact and attack them, if you interdict in a lawful system you suffer consequences.

I would have thought such a well seasoned PvPer would laugh at NPC cops turning up anyway.

I don't see a reason why anyone would need to change crime reporting mid-fight. If you're not looking for a fight, you just keep it ON and don't care :S

Makes sense to me. I would not be in favour of any change to the report crimes function.

90% of people in Open, perhaps. You haven't got a clue how many people were taking part via Solo or PG.

They aren't relevant to me, I think PG and Solo was the worst thing Fdev could have done. If people forged their skill in flame rather than easy mode the game would be in the mess it is now.

Propose your own CGs in anarchy systems.

FDev seems to ignore the majority of us, secondly very few factions are in anarchy space.

Dude if you don't like it...

Don't cry at me, I like the proposed change.

It doesn't matter to me, it just means I'm only going to murder people in my best ships. I won't fly the meme ships for fun anymore as I'm not risking a multi million dollar rebuy attempting to put the other player on a level play field.
Reality is the gankers will simply fly their best ships from now on and be even harder to kill. This solved nothing.

I could tactically use it to remove undesired players from an area. There is gameplay in not knowing. There is no gameplay in an obvious flag.

Restrict report crimes to be switched on/off every 24h outside of combat only. Problem solved. Bonus: show report crimes status in the detailed contact panel tab of fully scanned ships.

It doesn't work that way, unorganized PvP is exciting and has alot of variables. Planning it all the time is boring and less than satisfying. Not to mention stupidly time consuming and is like herding cats,

I don't murder traders but often go after notorious gankers who run crimes on all the time. The truckers I care little of, it just makes PvP harder to do is my point.

Cops matter as when you are in a 4 v 4 and it turns into a 12 v 4 I don't care what you're flying, its hard to win while tanking that much damage.

I see no problem here, do your duels in anarchy if you can't trust the other side for respecting your gentlemen's agreement.

I'd rather see Frontier work on stuff that matters, like organic PvP happening because one side has a real goal that can be achieved by the use of violence rather than try and catter to that misguided " consensual PvP " nonsense.

Problem solved.

Aye was going to suggest that, it's probably an easy implementation too.

Interested to hear what the issue with it would be.

Alternatively how about a system where "report crimes against me" is essentially always on (even if off) and tracking when it would fire.

So when a player has it off it just doesn't report, but if flipped on and there's combat in place would send the report as though it had always been on, in other words if the ship reporting was not the first to fire (and hit) then the crime is sent, if they were then no crime report is filed.

Not your game mate. That honour goes to DBOBE. And he disagrees with you.

People have fun in Solo/PG. Why does that offend you so much? Do you get triggered when you see someone on your Xbox friends list playing Skyrim?

Great then, no harm done and everybody happy.

Thanks for being a great ganker, you did just admit that, right?

Gankers already only fly their best ships lol. If you didn't, you're likely an anomaly, not the standard.

What? Are you even reading the thread?
We're talking about legit PVP here. Gankers who just try to gank inferior ships will not attack legit PVPers and I'm all fine with PVEers having crimes on.

One of the reasons why I want to see if the target has crimes ON or OFF is also to tell if they want to fight. If that FDL has crimes ON, I won't bother attacking him cause it's either a PVEer not interested in a fight, or it's a troll.

Remind me how many rules there are in Open again?

This isn't a rule, this is a solution to a anti-gamey exploit that makes no sense.
