How will you equip your ship(s) for Thargoid encounters

Now we know a bit more about what's coming in 2.4, I'm wondering what you'll all do regards equipping your ships for Thargoid encounters.

Will you get anti-Thargoid defences and weapons on all your ships, a couple of your ships, one of your ships, or none of them?

Will you stay in the bubble, go to Colonia, or head off into the black?

I'm thinking I might build one Thargoid hunter ship, but just equip the rest of my fleet with anti-Thargoid defences.

Am out in the black when they announced, will be in the black when they arrive, will be in the black as the bubble burns and will be in the black when they leave again.

So long as they affect only the bubble, I really dont see why I should do anything past finding a nice planet with canyons so I can have fun in the slf ^

Making a bug hunting ship myself. Bought a second Corvette and am setting it up for that. I'll keep my normal CG/privateer one outfitted as is though. Swap between them as necessary.

I think at first thargy encounters will be around the maia area so I will just build an alien killing set up for my vette and equip as and when it's needed.
If it's more involved that that and the bubble starts to burn (which would be awesome from my pov) I'll probably just fly around with my bug spray weapons all the time.

Even though it's far from my favourite ship, I was thinking about a Fer-de-Lance for its manoeuvrability. Might look at a Dropship or Gunship instead though. I already have two Corvettes.

Between my normal Corvette and my 2 Anacondas I have a lot of spare modded handmedowns so I slapped all of that on my new Vette. Best part is I now have several 51% increased range FSD for that class so my collecting worked out the other day.

Also I have multi crew in mind since some people might prefer not going there but experiencing it though MC.

Depends on what sort of weapons and systems become available. I might make my Battle-Conda into an anti-Thargoid ship.

I wouldn't fret. Our returning insectoid friends have thoughtfully limited their return to a a handful of systems a few hundred LY from the bubble. So thoughtful of them to remain pretty much an irrelevance for the foreseeable future. The bubble won't burn. It won't even notice.

They wouldn't attack a pink ship... so I'm good...

Full of UA and alien stuff. They wouldn't blow me away if I'm carrying something that they want, would they?

I was actually wondering the same question. I have way more credits than I need but I am too afraid to buy anything right now. It would be awful if Frontier brought a lot of cool-expensive stuff and I had already wasted all my money in a mine-aconda that I don't even like. Those things are slow and, I want to be able to run away if the situation gets nasty.
So just my Asp with my power-hungry beams and my limited ammo missiles. Ready to get rekt.

I hope I'm not the only one who is saving just in case.

Probably will fly something fast and agile and hard to hit like a courier to start in order to probe for weaknesses. Clearly normal human defences are meaningless if they can wipe out a capital ship. So likely the only defence will be to not get hit in the first place. Also their EMP attack seems to be somewhat range based. If speed is sufficient, then maybe a Cutter or Clipper could end up being useful as well. Maybe an FDL? Or a Vulture, or light weight Viper? Definitely not an Anaconda or Corvette. As those will likely be easily targeted by the Thargoids.

For weapons I'll probably use fixed hit scan in case they have stuff to mess with my targeting ability. But I'll also try every engineered and PP weapon in my arsenal.

I'll build a thargoid-hunting Conda - with most effective anti-thargoid weapons and mods introduced in 2.4.

I also have 3 accounts, so I will probably design it around 8 pips.

I don't plan to Git Gud - but I do plan to Git God. Just like I did with my anti-NPC Vette.

Yeah I'm cracking Palin open for those G5 dirties and building a Courier that can get in and out, for science!. It will be called MATTE DEMON ;)

No way I'm risking my half juiced Conda until the arms race shakes out a bit. Definitely looking forward to Multicrew vs nippy alien formations tho :)

Here's hoping they aren't religious and believe in a diety that (bizarrely) hates pink. I mean it's frontier so I imagine that couldn't possibly happen. Right?

Insects cannot see the color red, which is the lowest color frequency humans can see. However, houseflies have the ability to see polarized light, but humans cannot differentiate between polarized and unpolarized light. Polarized light is light in which the waves travel only in one plane.

Fly in a pink panther? :p

Wasps are also attracted by certain colours, especially white and yellow. Like most insects, they cannot see the colour red, so it’s worth investing in a red shirt, and — if you can withstand the mockery of your friends — some red trousers
