Just been playing some more (I suck at docking so need the practice! lol)
and I had a look at some of the trophies, there is no way I'll ever get platinum with this

Full Ranking - Reach level 50 cqc championship rank
Binary Agent - Visit W Ursae Majoris
Center of the Galaxy - Visit Sag A
Ship Slayer - Destroy 1000 ships
Are we there yet? - Deliver 500 passengers
and I will drive 500 more - Drive 1000 miles in an SRV

seriously the amount of salt being spread around here anyone would think we were in a blizzard of negative vibes. lets all just enjoy the last hours of excitement before we launch on our biggest adventure in gaming

The only 'hard' one there is the CQC ranking. The rest just take time.

I think you kind of missed what we were all saying. People who bought the physical copy of this game in particular get to do the training missions right now, but those who have the digital copy have to wait till midnight Tuesday.

May not seem like a big deal. But my complaint is that why is there a restriction in place on us with the digital copy, and not those who have the actual disc? Playing the training missions won't screw up the servers or cause any problems. Technically, all Frontier had to do was unlock the game to download and get to the home screen on the 25th (today) and then we'd ALL be doing the damn training right now.

The actual button to even join a server is locked on the game itself until the servers open. So again, no risk of people doing anything that would effect something on launch day.

That's it. Simple. I know it's stupid to you guys. That's been made abundantly clear. But it's just a stupid oversight on Frontier's part. Letting SOME people do the training today and restricting others even they have the same exact game, and paid the same exact amount for it, seems... Unfair. If you will.

I wasted half hour this morning watching some german play the training missions...
loop of shame a few times... no pips in sys when fighting... lots of rookie mistakes made me chuckle as i remembered being (almost) as bad.

I didn't even know there was a difference between download and physical disc...I downloaded as my kids are always removing my game discs with sticky fingers to watch their dvds[haha]

Tbh, I am a bit upset about this as well... I asked like a dozen times in this forum if it will be possible to have a headstart with the disc version. Evertime the answer was no. You can't play the game without the servers being online (including training missions)... So I pre-orderered and downloaded the digital version.

It's not about the headstart in comparison with others, it's just that I have a day off tomorrow and would have liked to play the training missions.

With respect I think you have missed the point. The digital game is locked in line with the launch window for the game. Sony have to do this as they are just vendors adhering to a distribution contract, its how a launch works. You only get to download it early so it can be played as soon as it strikes midnight on launch day.

By the same legislation you can't go into a shop and buy it now either, or pick-up an in store pre-order (like myself - I will be unable to play it until after work on Tuesday!). The only reason anyone is playing it is because some retailers have breached that agreement.

Frontier aren't saying some people can play it and some can't, as far as they are concerned no one should have the disc until Tuesday 00:00. Tech wise the training missions are on the disc and don't require a connection so if someone has it early then they can play them, there isn't anything they can do about that either.

I can see why it's a bit annoying seeing others on it (I'm jealous about it too) but I really don't see why anyone thinks they are somehow being singled out or victimised with this.

To be fair it wasn't known you could do the training mission if you were lucky enough to get an earlier disk delivery.

to be honest i am fine with this, but considering that we have been asking for the training missions to help us with the learning curve and also to give us a bit of a leg up, its a shame the people who got discs got what we have all been asking for but the digital pre orders don't. just like america got the ps4 avatars and rest of the world didn't, just seems like a lack in basic marketing. but then again FDev are game designers, not marketing gurus
