How will you equip your ship(s) for Thargoid encounters

I guess whatever these new fangled "Thargoid Specific" weapons and modules turn out to be. Its obvious from what we have seen so far, that anything capable of laying out a Federal Capital Ship isn't going to be effected by anything we currently have available to us.

Until such time as this new tech becomes available, I would suggest keeping your weapon's bays closed, and your fingers on the boost and FSD Charge buttons! ;)

I will load up on biowaste and when I see a thargoid ship I will jettison cargo and run.

I understand... dropping cargo means faster boost and longer jump range... and thargoids might be interested in biowaste, to fertilize their ships... what a smart plan.

I will continue flying my Asp Explorer. I have 2 hardpoints free and i can easily get 2 utility slots free as well. Just in case i can also spare a class 3 internal... so whatever our scientists come up with, it can be fitted either this way or another. For the weapon-part, i will most likely equip none and focus on defense and possible communication.

Now we know a bit more about what's coming in 2.4, I'm wondering what you'll all do regards equipping your ships for Thargoid encounters.

Will you get anti-Thargoid defences and weapons on all your ships, a couple of your ships, one of your ships, or none of them?

Will you stay in the bubble, go to Colonia, or head off into the black?

I'm thinking I might build one Thargoid hunter ship, but just equip the rest of my fleet with anti-Thargoid defences.
I'll wait to see what game play is introduced? If it's just (more) shallow stuff with no depth added, that solves the entire problem for me... No new ships, no modification, no traveling...

My Python got me thru engineers and the Corvette stayed in dry dock.

I'm just about done w/ a nifty FDL that goes pretty quick and is a relatively a cheap re-buy.

I plan to see what plays out in my Python/FDL combo once the bugs start their swarm.

The Corvette/Anaconda will stay in until reliable sitreps come out.

One thing though, war usually takes out the weak and disorganized first, so make sure you have solid mates around. A relationship w/ a wing may be beneficial.

This might be a stupid question but is the anti-thargoid stuff ONLY going to work against Thargoids? Or will it work against other human Thargoid modded ships?

Will probably be going for a weaponless build with Thargoid defense modules. That is my plan, anyway.

I would hope that it is ineffective against human ships, forcing a dilemma & requiring some kind of compromise (preferably power limitation, or a low heat build).

I could see the reasoning behind that. I also see the human factor in this: If I've been on a Thargoid recon run and on my way back to wherever I'm interdicted and blown up because I was left defenseless that's not so great.
A jack of trades ship is going to suffer against Thargoids as well as human or npc ships. So I suppose as long as any shielding is functional for our needs now and retains anti-Thargoid functions I'd be OK with that.
I think we need a proper Q&A session with Sandro or the like to clarify on things that have been revealed so far.

I will fully equip my T6 with A rated FSD and D rated everything else to maximise exploration potential (maybe A thrusters too). If Thargoids avoid me, no loss, but if all they want to do is to shoot me, they can kiss my credit card goodbye.

I will equip my Beluga with Luxury-cabins. Our insect overlords deserve no less during their 'victory' tour across the bubble. :p

Run and hide where ever is safe. Not fighting them.

I am having a cup holder installed to drink as much as I can .... JUST in case .... (I have suggested this for the store but seen nothing yet).
