Hardware & Technical I need some assistance on knowing if Elite Dangerous will run at minimum settings.

I think it will run, just want to make sure before spending a lot of money on it, and be hopeless.

I have a Dell E6420 ATG

CPU: Intel 7 2640M 2.8ghz turbo 3.5ghz
GPU: Nvidia NVS 4200m
RAM: Kingston 8GBs
HDD: 550GBs
Windows 10 Pro 64Bit

Do you geeks think it will do the job at minimum?

Possibly, I remember way back during Alpha etc there were people running the game on laptops that were very much under the minimum specs. However it's changed a lot since then, and you certainly(fairly) won't be able to play Horizons.

Horizons is a definite no.

Elite dangerous can run playably on old(ish) Intel graphics hardware however so you might be in luck there.

Yeah, the base game might run in some state. Can't guarantee it'll be a good experience though. I run it at 1920x1080 on low settings off a 4670k when my GPU died a year or so ago.

Luckily It's not an Intel GPU, even though I can switch from the NVS to the Intel GPU
So I'm off to buy, I will post what happens.

Hang on, you are actually going to buy that? I seriously hope you aren't paying too much for it! The GPU in this case is your most important consideration & it is extremely weak. Like I said, it will not play Horizons in any playable condition at anything above 1024 x 768. The base game will be a different story but even then I suspect you will have to make massive concessions to get a playable frame rate.

Put up your budget & I can (almost) guarantee that there will be something more suited to playing the game available.

The NVS 4200m is really slow and is not going to provide a pleasant experience at all.

I'm running it with an intel core duo 2,4ghz and an nvidia gt610i..... soo trust me it's going to run

The GT610i is very similar, but unless you want pixelated expanse of mud and bad, or can tolerate a slide show, neither are going to do the job.

I am one of those people who tried running it on an integrated intel HD something something. While it works, I wouldn't call it smooth. I needed it to complete some powerplay missions while I was away from my main desktop. While I was able to do it it was hard... I can dig up laptop specs when I get home...
